Lights Camera Magic (ABD) or In Walt's Footsteps??

Myself, DW and DS (17) and DD (14) are travelling to DL in February. I am currently planning but I am unsure which of the below I should book.

Lights Camera Magic (ABD) costs $189 (with discount) x 4. We've done the whole Farmers Market, Chinese Theatre thing before. Really keen to see Walt Disney Studios but it's lot of money.

Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour costs $87 (with discount) x 4. I know it's different experience than the ABD tour but it's cheaper, even with the recent $45 hike.

I would appreciate any advice or thoughts on the tours, especially from anyone who has been on either or both.

Walk in Walt's Footsteps also requires an extra day of park admission (unless you were also planning to enter Disneyland after you got back from the Lights, Camera, Magic tour). The Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour is still cheaper though.

A few weeks ago the DIS Unplugged podcast reviewed the Lights, Camera, Magic tour. It sounded fun but if you've already done several of the things you do on the tour (as you have), I think that's a really steep price for basically seeing the Studios and a few other locations that may be new to you. They noted that you can book/do many of the experiences offered on your own, as you've done. So I haven't done the tour but since you've done some of the Lights, Camera, Magic tour, I'd have to lean toward Walk in Walt's Footsteps.

(Of course, you've presumably ridden the rides offered on that tour, too...ah well; at least it is cheaper. )

Many thanks to both of you for the advice, it was a great help

Having listened to the advice and especially the podcast, I think we might opt for the In Walt's footsteps tour unless ABD add more of a wow factor the tour between now and Feb to make it worth it.

I'm just going to wait to read Mary Jo's blog before making the final decision.
