Hi all,

I am trying to send a photo via email, so I'm exporting it to my hard drive first. The person I sent the photo to originally requested a higher resolution image. I've searched and following the instructions on how to resize upon export (dimensions), but when I export the photo it looks absolutely NO different! It's frustrating....

Any advice on what I'm doing wrong?

You've double checked the actual pixel dimensions on the file? And how much are you sizing down from your original?

As mentioned check the actual pixel dimensions of the picture (or compare the file sizes).

Even if you have a larger pixel dimension picture your viewing program will down res it to fit on your computer monitor - you'd have to compare 100% views to see a difference if there are a different number of pixels between the two photos.

If maybe saving a JPEG then you might have kept the resolution (same number of pixels) but less compression for a higher quality picture. Thus the pixel dimensions will be the same (height x width) but the file size will be larger as more information about color/etc. will be kept in the JPEG. The added quality should be noted as less blocky color chunks or banding where there is a gradual change of tone (e.g. across a sky).
