Lightning Strikes - Again!!!

Ok, so about 3-4 weeks ago, I posted and said how lightning struck the chimney of the house right behind us, so now every storm I'm not really as comfortable.

Last night we were not supposed to have rain. About 11:30pm we were woken up with loud thunderstorm...golf ball size hail. Honestly thought a tornado was coming. After about an hour it let up. We heard sirens, looked out the window and there was a firetruck in the subdivision. Lightning struck and destroyed the chimney of a house right down the block from us!

Doesn't it seem strange that 2 houses within a block within a month got struck by lightning? Now its supposed to storm again tonite! Can't it just rain?

at Sebago and I do believe it was a lightening strike waiting to happen.......always struck the trees and the transformers that were in the camp grounds......one night we were coming back from another camp and lightening hit the tree and we heard this sizzle and it went around the tree and peeled off the bark......scared me for good.....I hate thunderboomers

I had lightening strike the tree in the front yard about year ago - just about 30 ft from the house - I can't stand lightening

Having a lightening strike at the house behind us sure put the fear of God into me. Never have I heard such a loud bang. Glad your house is okay.

I know that when I was in college and living in the dorm (very old dorm) the dorm next door to us got hit by lightning and it was the loudest BOOM I'd ever heard in my life. We thought that our building was hit.

I am sooo terrified of lighting! It was time for me to get off from work...and it was lightning bad...but I got out and got in my car...and then drove a few blocks...couldn't handle it...went back to my job..and stayed there until the lightning stopped.

When I was living in the same city where my parents live...on my way to my parents...it started lightning bad. I got to their driveway...I froze...couldn't open the car door to touch the metal door knob. I ended up driving back to my house...and I still couldn't get out of the car...LOL...I ended up driving back to my parents and yelling from their driveway..."Open the door so I can run right in!" Then I did my counting...1 2 3 4 5...then finally I had the courage to open my car and ran inside.

When at home...I stay away from the windows...I take the two kids (4 and 6) with me and stay in the hallway. I take their sleeping bag and the pillows so they can get comfy.

Now am I scared or am I scared of lighting?!?! I don't mind the thunder...but usually...thunder is associeated with lighting. It gets pretty bad here too in Michigan...I heard news regarding someone getting striked by the lightning or someone's roof or their garage being struck my a lighting... Scary huh?!
