Lightning McQueen at MGM?

Does anyone know when/where is the best time to see Lightning McQueen at MGM? I thought I remember someone posting that they saw "him" there???

You can get your picture taken with him (and Mater) throughout the day at Streets of America at Disney-MGM Studios. The show schedule will have the times. We always try to get there 10 minutes early because the line can be long. As for the best time of day, that's hard to say, sorry!

Get there early! There are only a couple 20-minute windows to see both Lightnin' and Mater and get your pix with them.

We were just there and the schedule said the Cars greet was only on Fridays -- a bit of a disappointment since we were there on Saturday and Monday and my 4 1/2 year old son didn't find much else he like in MGM except for Star Tours and the HISTK playground.

We were there on Saturday and got our pictures with both Lightning and Mater. We saw them at 12:30. We didn't get there until about 12:25 and they cut the line off right after us. They had meet and greets during the morning until 12:30 and then one in the afternoon, I think it was at 4:10.

Is it still a free for all or do they actually form a line???? It was nice when we went to Disneyland. Lightning and Mater was out pretty much all the time and there never seemed to be a line for them.

WDW on the other hand last year was insane they came out and it was a free for all with kids just running from everywhere for pictures.

we were told to come back 15 minutes early for the next show because we had just got in line when the CM cut it off. we thought we were going to be slick and go back 25 minuted early but alas we were about 10 people back when we got in line. the cool thing was the band blood sweat and sheers (?) was playing right there so we had something to watch.

We were there in September, and they had a line forming.

We arrived in MGM on a Saturday, about 10:00. Seeing Lightning and Mater were high on our priority list, so we asked where to go see them and headed on over. The CMs had the lines cut off and we were told the Cars were leaving but would be back at 12:30.

We came back at around 12:40, and the line was already being cut off by the CMs. They didn't even stay out for 30 minutes (they were driving back by 10 till 1), and I guess we really needed to have been there much earlier than even the time they're supposed to come out.

After that, they didn't come out until the parade, and then there was one more showing, which we weren't in the park anymore. So on a Saturday in September, there were three opportunities to get your pic with them, with them only being out for around 20 minutes or so. Now, it was DEATHLY hot. Maybe in the cooler months, they stay out a bit more.

So get there early if this is a priority for you!!! I wish we had. Now we know for our January trip. Hopefully Remy from Ratatouille won't be as difficult to say hello to!!!

The Cars have an organized line now. Just a warning- get there early! They are not out that long, and the line gets closed even earlier. So I would get there 15 minutes (at least) before they are even due to come out.

Glad to hear they have a proper queue line now. All the pics I have of DD with Lightning and Mater from last year have tons of other random people in them!

My kids got pics with lightning and mater on tuesday. It was at 10:30 and they only stay out for 20-25 mins, same with the power rangers. We were able to get cars, pink, yellow and green power ranger. They had real lines and cars had 3 cm's you waited in line and took a picture with lightning and then moved over to the Mater line. Power Rangers also had formed lines. All were on the streets of America before you get to the Lights Action show.

The Power Rangers also do their meet thing back on the Streets of America and that was DS's 1st priority so we went there pretty much right after opening. Lightening and Mater drove out first to go to their spot and they were followed by the Power Rangers. We were able to see all of the Power Rangers and then get in line for the Cars. They did cut the line off shortly after us but it was nice to get all of it done early in the day. I would imagine the later times are busier because there are more people back in that area of the park.

Wow, that's nice! I highly recommend doing the first set for Power Rangers, because you can get a lot of them (last time I went I got 4 of the 5- all but Red). But good job getting the Cars too.
