Now, I know here in the UK we dont have much in the way of exciting weather (1 inch of snow brings the country to a standstill and more than a week of constant sunshine sees hosepipe and sprinkler bans :thumbsup2 ) so this might seem a bit tame to you guys in the US! But we did have a humdinger of a storm the other night - unlike most UK storms (2 flashes of lightening and 2 thunderclaps then its over!) this one lasted awhile - long enough to set up my tripod. :woohoo:

Never shot lightening before so it was trial and error! Settings were Tv mode 2 seconds, aperture f/7.1, ISO100. Lens set to manual, focus on infinity. These two were my faves.

Nice. Like the touch of having the lightning reflected in the car window.

We didn't have the thunderstorm in Nottingham, shame as i would hvae liked to have got out there.

They are good shots we had a good storm last week but it was around 3 am and it woke me up so wasnt going to reach for the camera at that time! lol

Got this one in Las Vegas

Sorry for all the noise in these, taken with my PnS and zoomed in a bit. This cloud was way off in the distance and practically constant in-cloud lightning
