Light weight stroller?

I’m looking for recommendations for a lightweight stroller. I’m planning on taking two solo trips with my daughter in the next year (one when she is 1 year and 8 months old and one when she is 2 years 2 months old) and need a stroller that I can easily get on and off busses while simultaneously carrying my daughter.

we own a city mini GT and I love that stroller for ease of use but hate the under stroller basket and it’s too large/heavy for me to handle on my own easily with my daughter in my arms. I mean, I can do it but it’s a struggle. I’m on the smaller size as a woman so that doesn’t help with my struggle.

so now I’m looking for a lightweight stroller that’s easy to carry but also is easy to steer. My daughter has only slept in a stroller once (do ability to lay down in stroller is not a must) and she tends to like to be carried more than be in the stroller so easy pushing with one hand is also a bonus.

I would check out the summer infant 3d lite, although it's been a couple years since I've used it regularly so I can't remember how easy it is to close.

We use this stroller for walks around our neighborhood. My son is 11 months and likes it. It doesn't have a lot of storage underneath, and the cupholder sucks, but it's lightweight and easy to fold once you get the hang of it. We bring our Bob to the park (we're local), so I can't speak to how it works there.

I am not up on current strollers as my kids are grown but I took lots of trips with just myself and my dd - (and then both my dd's). I would say try and find one that folds easily and then also stands on its own after folding and has a carry handle for boarding the bus. We had a peg perego (?) that did just that with the advantage of a standing board on the back but this was 20 years ago so I am sure there are better options.

My other tid bit is to use a lightweight backpack as a "diaper bag" so you can be hands free.

Enjoy - your "mom and me" trips are great memories.

Thanks everyone. I bought a summer lite 3D plus off Amazon cause they had one as a warehouse deal for $60. Our first trip isn’t till April but it will give me time to try it for a bit and see how I like it. The strolled is only 14 pounds and has a carry strap which seemed helpful for disney. The only thing I didn’t like was no child tray but I didn’t see any Iight weight strollers with a child tray.

im so excited for my first mommy and me trip

I've been researching the same thing -- I have the Britax b agile single and double stroller and those fold easy but are so big - my dh says he really doesn't want to lug it around anymore (our kids are 2, 5, 9). I'm going to get the Chicco one that is very similar to the summer lite 3D - they seems like bigger heavier duty umbrella strollers, I think it'll be perfect.

We almost brought it with us to the parks (and we saw a lot of them there), but we ended up bringing down our Bob Motion which was perfect.

My summer lite 3D plus came in the mail today. It looks like the seat doesn’t have a lot of room but my 15 month old seemed to like it. She actually seems to like it more than our city mini cause she can see out of it on all sides easily. The canopy is also big that I think it will help block out some distractions if I try to get her to nap in the stroller. It’s super easy to fold and I was able to fold the stroller while holding my daughter with just two kicks of my foot. The strap to carry it isn’t the greatest and I could see it not working for some people but I’m small so the strap can easily go over my shoulder.

Overall, I prefer the city mini cause it feels more sturdy, it’s more comfortable for me to push and just feels nicer. But, I’m so far happy with the summer lite 3D plus and my kid seems to prefer it.

now I just need to get some snack cups that I can attach with bottle/cup holder strap things to the side of the stroller so she can still have snacks in it
