We are leaving in one week and I am starting to pack. I am wondering if I should pack just a light jacket or a sweater or do I need a heavy jacket for nighttime. I am coming from a cold climate, so I am use to very cold nights in the 20's. Do I need to bring hats, gloves, etc.?

I would recommend a heavy jacket, hat and gloves. Just put them in a locker during the day and retrieve them when the sun goes down.

We live in south central PA and our high these days is CA's low. We were there last week and did fine with just long pants and a jacket (sweatshirt kind with a hood). The only time it was cold to us was when we got wet on Splash Mountain but we avoided those kind of rides once the sun started to set.

Is there a charge for the lockers? Do you have to bring your own locks? How does that work & where are they located?

Thanks!

My husband suggested you do like me, no jacket then it is a good excuse to go shopping for a new disney jacket. It took him a couple a few minutes on the last two trips to think about why I don't take a jacket when we go to Disneyland.

We were there last December(around Christmas time) and the temperatures were in the high 30's.
I don't think you will have those kind of temperatures but I would recommend bringing an extra layer and leaving it in a locker as disneyfaninaz said. If you don't bring enough you will regret it.

Small lockers are $7 for 18 hrs. They are self locking lockers ( you get a receipt with a code and if you need to get back in just enter the code)

well, last year doesnt count. It was our coldest winter ever recorded in the history of LA. Talk about Global Cooling instead :P

I do suggest the locker trick. Sometimes, in the mornings, it burns. feels like 90 degrees, but when the wind blows and the sun goes down, it gets pretty chilly...

I think the 30s maybe feel pretty warm to my 15s!!
I will skip the jacket so i have a reason to buy a hoodie!!

Yeah I heard that the weather last year had broken some records.
We also brought clothes for 40-50 deg weather which didn't help cause you know is not getting a coat, yeah thats right I let my wife wear mine so I was in short sleeves last year. Got alot of weird looks from people in parkas.

Be sure to definitely bring a jacket because there's always the chance that it will rain, and even pour.

I sure hope there in no rain... But I will have a coat or sweatshirt along with all of us or go back to the hotel for our naps and grab them for the evening time. I am packing my daughter mostly pants and long sleeve shirts to wear everyday anyways.

Since it looks (if you can believe the weather reports this far out) that some fo the days were are there it will be 70 plus, you may want to consider some short-sleeved shirts for the kid with longer sleeves to layer, maybe a sweatshirt on top?? thats what we have done and it works great.
Now I am trying to decide if fleece jackets are enough or if I need to bring heavy coats......
it's coming soon, can't wait......:santa:

This is exactly what I did last year. I love my PoTC jacket  .

We went Dec 7th-12th, people who were not used to the cold were in jackets and sweaters, however we were running around in shorts and tank tops. The locals kept looking at us like we were crazy  .

The only time I needed a jacket was for about 20 minutes when the sun went down and when it rained (for a couple hours one day).

I'll throw in my 2cents worth...I'm a big fan of layering. I always bring a scarf and gloves too. When your moving around it might not seem too cold but when your standing or sitting in one place for awhile, like waiting for the fireworks or Fantasmic, it can get quite cold! I've been so cold at Disneyland before that it was down right miserable and that's no fun!

The California weather can be pretty unpredictable. We have been going in the fall for the past 7 years. One year it was freezing and the next hot. I would take a light jacket and buy a nice warm souvenir if it becomes necessary.

wish I was there...... :sad1:

my boys will be wearing jeans and short sleeves, but we will bring sweatshirts and layers for the evening. I would love for it to be in the 70s!! I will bring along panchos just in case of rain!
