Light chasers

I can't believe I made the classic mistake of trying out a toy in front of my kids. I'd heard about the light chasers at the Disney Store and I just wanted to see what they did. So I casually pick it up and flip it on. My boys' faces lit up even brighter than the toy. I did manage to get out of the store without buying them, but I know we will never get through our trip withour shelling out some money for one.
Can anyone tell me if/when these go on sale in the stores? I'd rather wait for a sale if I can. If they aren't something that ever goes on sale, I'm going to have to make another trip to the DS to pick them up. I know it will be cheaper there than at the park. Thanks for any help!

They had clearance ones this past week for 1.49 or 1.99. I can't remember the price, but they were cheap.

Aquagirl,

Were those like the 10 or 12 inch Buzz Lightyear things that spin around with lights on these extensions? The ones I saw today were about $13, if I remember right. Are there smaller sizes that I should look for?

Thanks

I asked a CM at the Disney store the same thing and she said that they rarely go on sale....because they are in high demand! Sorry! I am still waiting too. We are going in Sept. so there is still a chance.

I bought some Christmas ones on sale after Christmas 2 years ago. I think I paid $3.99 for them. I haven't seen them on sale very often though.

There are some folks on ebay (well, actually just mainly one person, from what I can tell) selling light chasers. I have also seen them on DisneyDeals site (but usually they are sold in lots of 4 or such). Now that being said, let me comment on my experience. I bid (and won) a Pooh and a Mickey light chaser. These are the Disneyland / World versions, they talk, they spin, they light up. THey were labeled in the ad as "new with tags -- only taken out of package for picture!" I've never seen these in a "package" per se so I have no clue what that means (usually they are just in a bin). HOWEVER... what I received seemed a bit battered and weary -- like it had laid in the bottom of a bin for a loooong time! (Paint chipped off Mickey's pointed finger and Pooh's nose, a sticky spot on Mickey's hat, like red lollipop perhaps? Definitely had been handled, and operated, although perhaps not yet "owned" by a child!) Even more disconcerting -- the classic (annoying!) screw that holds the battery door shut on these toys was missing on both toys! They did have tags on them -- but big whoop. Anyone can stick a tag on. I contacted the seller and stated my displeasure. Now to his credit i do confess -- he quickly responded, offered to take them back and refund my shipping or literally anything else within reason. Really let me make the call! As I had bought other items as well, we finally settled on a "rebate" of sorts for the owrn items (and also a cracked CD case for some park music I bought). I thought this was quite fair of the seller -- however -- I notice this same seller continues to sell these same toys on ebay. Must have bought a big lot and is slowly parceling it out -- all I can say is that I sure hope the remainder of the lot is in better shape, but somehow I'm betting it's not. In any case I think I paid about 6.50 inc. shipping for each for these (and they talk spin and light up), which I suppose isn't so bad. Heck, 5 minutes in a 4 yr old's hands and who will know they ever CAME somewhat worn?!? I did have to supply the locking screws, however...

Just an FYI, FWIW! ;)
