My heart goes out to you Parkersmom. Please put me on Santa's helper list if you need any assistance with presents.
I don't feel my post was snarky but I am sorry if it was perceived that way. I truly don't understand the mantra of not having a lot of money (like two months of bills could wipe out their savings as the OP said before in her other thread) and going to Disney. You can make a ton of memories at home. And it wasn't the only time this family had been to Disney so they would have memories. The OP posted that thread a few months ago and posted all of her information out their for the world to see. I just don't see the mentality of this board of "go to Disney even though you can't really afford it and something might happen" and then see things like this happen.
Like I said before, I am truly sorry for what the OP is going through and I pray her husband recovers and for her child to have a good Christmas.
I agree! And I usually have the softest heart for these situations.
But this financial one - she brought on herself!!
Who chooses to NOT have health insurance when there is a pre-existing health condition? Seriously the OP said they had 7 months of expenses saved in the bank and went on vacation - but the health insurance lapsed?
Karma is biting them back.

I second this thought. I would be happy to help make sure that Santa comes through for your daughter. Just send a PM. Hugs, prayers and best wishes to you, your family and your friend.
I was getting ready to post this offer too but I see that you have it covered. If anything comes up that you can't get covered for your DD for her Santa, PLEASE PM me...I would be happy to help!
More importantly, I will be praying for you and your family!
Amy

As a community we can help!! I'm in!! PM me your daughters XMAS list, clothing size and your address. My prayers are with you and your family.
I just think it was tacky to put it out there right now. the tone of your message was snarky imo. I do get what you are saying, and I agree, but the OP wasn't looking for an "I told you so" answer. She's just looking for a hug support/advice.

OP, I will pray for you...
Regardless of OP's past choices, there is such a thing as not kicking someone when they are down.I find it hard to believe that some would say the same thing to a woman's face in real life when her husband was in the hospital after a heart attack.
FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING, you should contact DH's former employer. He still may be eligible for COBRA. The payments are expensive (though there is a percentage of relief sometimes available through new governmental programs because he was laid off), but they can backdate back to the date of last coverage (was it the end of the month in which he was laid off?). Even paying for full-coverage COBRA is better than paying those kinds of medical bills.
This is extremely time-sensitive, as you only have a certain number of days to apply after employment ends. You may get in just under the wire, depending upon when his coverage terminated.
Good luck.
