My DD (12) and her friend are participating in this years Lifestyle Project in our local area. For those that have never heard of it before it is an incentive to get youngsters involved in the local community with the aim of achieving a specific goal which they set themselves. DD has decided that they would like to raise money to buy toys for a local childrens hospice and have already started putting together their old toys to sell at a car boot sale. They also want to do some sort of sponsored event (like a walk over Humber Bridge for example) but they want something unique that makes people take notice.
So my question is have any of you any good ideas for something they can do. They dont seem to be too bothered about making fools of themselves (after all they are 12 so pretty much do that on a daily basis anyway :goodvibes) so feel free to throw any suggestions our way.
Oh - one more thing I should mention. The prize if they win is a 'Trip of a lifetime to Florida' :thumbsup2

dont have any suggestions but just wanted a say a huge good luck to them, and its also really nice to hear of kids who want to do something that benefits their local community. unfortunately they're a rarity these days

perhaps they could do a compilation of things over a whole week or month like wear their clothes backwards, no talking, no texting, no internet, no TV, no chocolate. I'll have a further think to see if anything better comes to me.

I definitely like the idea of no talking and no texting. I will suggest that one to them and see if they will start right away. :lmao:

How about having a theme??? as the prize is a trip to Florida, you could:

Dress up as a different Disney character every day for a week....or month:rotfl:

Dress as a big Orange

Have a cookie bake....or sell cookies dressed as an Orange:lmao:

I'll have a think of some more.....

What a lovely topic for your DD and her friend to get involved in, I hope they do well in whatever they choose :)

Just a few more to throw in...

- Bake some fairy cakes and sell to people in street/family
- Car washing in the local street, supervised of course :)
- A tea party/coffee morning, with cakes, biscuits etc
- Make up some Disney themed calendars on the PC for 2012 and sell them
- Those game cards were people pay say 50 pence/£1 and choose a name of a cuddly toy

I'll keep thinking :goodvibes
