Life Time Park Pass

It has been rumored over the years that Disney sold a few lifetime admissions but I've never seen credible confirmation so I doubt it to be true. I'm sure they could work out a price that would make sense from their side but I'm doubting if they'd get enough participation to justify it at that price. As for financing, that's not what they do so I don't think internal financing is something they'd consider just like they don't with DVC. This is different that spreading dues or a years pass out over a year.

While I haven't specifically seen a lifetime pass, I have met someone who had one. He was an elderly gentleman who rode an ECV and went to the parks every day. He would wear all of his trading pins on about 20 lanyard around his neck, and he dispensed Disney stickers from his ECV. We encountered him on numerous visits to Epcot because he was often seen in American Adventure listening to Voices of Liberty. On numerous occasions speaking to him, he referenced his complementary lifetime pass. I haven't seen him for a couple of years now, so I assumed he has passed on.

WOW, that would be even better than working there....just go everyday to sit and chat with who ever comes by, give out stickers and trading pins!! Now that is the life I want to retire to!!

I think I have seen him before (many times), but I haven't seen him in the last year. He was always at the Mo Rockin performances watching them and the belly dancer when I visited with him. I had no idea he had a lifetime pass!

One of the staff at my husbands office is in her late seventies who now only works one day a week for some fun money was telling me about the lifetime passes that were on sale the first year Disneyworld opened and how she wishes she would have bought ones for her her family but they were expensive at the time, but friends of her did buy them.

How about a 10 year pass for $4000?

Ok but DVC isn't for a lifetime either so make a "lifetime" pass for say 20-30 years? A "magical" pass? A "golden" ticket? Ok Ok I'm dreaming....oooo a "Dreams Do Come True" pass! Ok I have to stop now

Either of these could make financial sense for them. Then they could keep you spending money inside the parks and eating in the restaurants, buying souvenirs, rather than taking resort-oriented vacations where owners spend less.

How about a "lifetime pass" available to DVC members based on the amount of time left on your DVC contract. That way there would be a price for OKW/VB/BCV owners and the pass would expire in January 2042, and a price for BLT owners that expired in 2060. Available to households of members only, whatever the price is now of a DVC AP x number of years on your contract left. I'd buy for DH & I (for DLR of course) but wait until DS5 was older to purchase one for him ... after reading stories of owner's teens tiring of the Mouse its hard to predict what kids will want in their 20's and 30's but I know DH and I will most likely never stop loving our park time.

For BLT that would be 2060-2012 = 48 x $399 = $19152 per person!!! Assuming they would not be transferable upon death no thank you. I would rather buy a bunch of 10 day park hopper no expiration passes. As I use one up, I would start another. If I drop dead tomorrow, someone else can make use of the rest of them.

What would make the best tie-in sense would be an addon to your DVC membership that would add length-of-stay park hopper passes to your points reservations. The logistics would be the same as the LOS passes we got pre-2000.

If they wanted to be semi-evil, they would only be available as part of an original sale and part of the contract you purchase. This would make them finance-able.

My guess is that Disney would want at least $500 per year x 30 years = $15,000 for a lifetime ticket

We've been members since 1997, and I don't recall any such pass. We were just thrilled when we got the $100 of the AP! We had been buying APs since before we joined DVC, so the discount made a huge difference to us.

That's true. IIRC it was for use 3 out of a 5 year period or some such. It was a very poor deal comparatively and I understand very few such tickets were sold.
