I think I am probably going crazy but after months of excitement, disappointment, worry and indecisiveness we have finally decided that we are GOING to WDW from February 7-12. I just finished booking the airfare so if we don't go now we will be out a little over $400.

I originally wanted to go for a full week in December then because of work schedules we switched to early February. Then DS and I got sick and I ended up using limited vacation time and that scared me into cancelling our trip. Then DS and I decided to go on the 4 day cruise and now finally we are back to a February trip but a shorter one than originally planned.

I finally decided that life is too short for me to worry this much. It may get tight with vacation time next year if me or DS gets sick for any length of time (more than 1-2 days) but I started thinking that in 20 years I will not remember a few months of stress worrying about what if we get sick but I will remember the look on DS's face when he gets to meet Pluto - his sleeping buddy - up close and personal! :)

I am sure I will still worry some but at least for 4 days in February I know that we will be having a great time. :) Now I get to start planning again. ;) I think we will probably try to do a low budget trip and stay at the All Stars. We will only have 4 days and while we will take it easy and slow there will still not be much time to enjoy resort extras and I am sure that DS will love the theming at the All Stars more than the other resorts anyway.

Thanks for putting up with my craziness these last few months. :) I really do love this place and the vast majority of you here.

Good for you! Nathan is going to love Pluto! :)

I amso glad you are going. You are right- life is too short and you will remember the trip more than the stress leading up to it!!

Becka, you ABSOLUTELY hit the nail on the head...life IS too short. I have NEVER regretted a vacation, ever. :) I would much rather spend my life ENJOYING things rather than owning things, and my DD has had MANY wonderful vacations in her 10 years of life as a result.

Enjoy your four days at WDW! :earsboy:

I tend to worry too. I always think about what I SHOULD be doing with extra money like buying what we need and so on. Strangely enough, DH is always telling me to go and quit worrying about it, and he is normally not the least bit interested in going himself.

Anyway, have fun planning now. That's one of the best parts.

Becka glad to hear the trip is back on. Pixie Dust that all goes well.

That is great Becka! YOu are right, the look on you son's face will erase all the worry and doubt. You'll have a great time.

Thats great, Becka!
And you know what...DONT WORRY! Even if something happens and you are in a bind for vacation time, deal with it then. Dont stress over it now since it most likely wont even happen. Enjoy your planning, enjoy your trip, and enjoy all the memories you will have when its over. Take lots of pictures and video and everytime you see them, you will know it was worth it. :D

Becka,
I agree with you Life is too short!

We worked really hard to afford our trip last Dec. and my husband fretted about it for a while.

Then, of course, when we got there, all we could think about was how much fun we were having. No matter the cost, there are somethings in life that are worth it.

P.S. We looked all over the park for Pluto! My DS-was 8 at the time and it was the only character he wanted to see. When we did find him over by Minnie's house, he smiled from ear to ear!
Have a great time and give Pluto a hug from us!

Good for you! Glad you worked it out. As a cousin of mine always says (& she's such a happy person all the time), "don't borrow tomorrow's troubles!" I need to live more by her words!

Have a fun time planning your trip too. Nothing wrong with staying at All Star Resorts either!

Good for you Becka. Your right life is too short, in a 100 years time we will all be dead, so lets enjoy the time when we can. Hope you have a wonderful trip.
