Do you or anyone you know sell life insurance? I have a job interview today with a pretty big company, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about their expeirences selling life insurance. It sounds kinda tough to do, but I would be up for the challenge.

I just think of Ned Briarson from Ground Hog day when I think about the job! :rotfl:

thanks for any info! :wave2:

My job is to help Life Insurance agents do their job. Their job is hard. Less than 10% of the people who start are still at it 4 years later. The first few years are especially tough.

However, for those that make it, it can be a great profession. Most good agents really enjoy what they do.

When you get down to it, life insurance is betting that you will die before the insurance company makes a profit on your premiums.

I don't like the feeling that the only way to "win" this bet is to die early.

i work in insurance primarily auto, property, specialty & business but we also sell life insurance & it is hard to sell. people dont like talking about death & so many people think their jobs plan is enough. but life insurance is very important in protecting your family & being responsible to them.

I can't imagine that the old school idea of an insurance salesman, making cold calls, going door to door, mailing flyers, even exists anymore. Do most life insurance agents get their clients online, via internet companies like selectquote and intelliquote? That's the way I, and most of the people I know, were hooked up with our policies.

I don't look at it that way at all. Life insurance is the protection for my family in the event I die so they can carry on with as little as a financial strain as possible.

This isn't a "win" game. It's about me caring and protecting the ones I love in the event I die. To me, having life insurance is a no brainer :confused3

Term is OK but the rest is just a poor investment IMO. I couldn't sell anything I didn't believe in. Just my 2 cents before they take the pennies away!
