Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

With DVC you can just add the DDP, b/c when we rent points they do that for us. So I know that can be done. We had the APs so that worked out for us. You should consider renting points the next time if you won't need tickets, or just wait for a room only again. Maybe a split stay? Then you get the package for a few nights, extend the park tickets, and go for DVC. Of course we are getting ahead of ourselves since you have not even taken the trip in August and we are already planning your next trip to use these tickets if you have to keep them!

Glad everything went well with the shower -- entertaining is not easy! ;)

Looking forward to hearing more about your CA vacation! :thumbsup2

Very cool, looks like the next trip will jsut HAVE to be DVC...by hook or by crook.

:rotfl:

I find it perfectly reasonable to plan the trip after the one that's 3 months away.

Or I wouldn't be here!

Like Liesa and Jenjolt, my head was spinning

reading your latest update, and then I saw my name -- Oh no, a quiz!

Good to see that Park bag and Shoes are at the top of the list. :rotfl:

Don't we all! I hate that I'm always the one who has to point it out. :rotfl2:

I"m glad I wasn't alone!

And let's just all be thankful that those weren't the ONLY things on that list. :lmao:

It's a tough job, but there are a few who just must do it. ;)

Yeah. I figure what he doesn't know....

Seriously though. He may find out this weekend when we have the DDP conversation with his mom. I did tell him there was a "glitch" and so we actually could add the ddp if we want too...

Well, good luck on this one. Navigating and negotiating these kinds of things stresses me out. Hope he's not the kind that flips a gasket.

I wish that I could be of more help, but I have never had to deal w/ your problems since we have never stayed on property. Fingers crossed that you get it worked out the way that you want it to!

I have to ask...why is there no coaching contact during that time period in August? That is completely backwards from the way that Todd runs his VB team. We have practices in June, take most of July off (they re-do the gym floors during this month, unfortunately), and then we pick back up in August & push hard until tryouts during the 1st week of school. It is always so interesting to hear how other schools run their programs...

Just coming in with a tip about your tickets you might want to try taking to the Concierge at the yacht club after you check in they should be able to change your tickets around for you.

I hope a DVC purchase is in your VERY near future. :goodvibes

How far out did you book your US resort? I'm thinking about it for next year and want to get prices as early as possible.

The paper holds up better? Really?

Yes. Really. I screwed up a park ticket once (plastic room key). Don't ASK! And when they replaced it with paper I got upset, but they told me the paper are better. And they are right. I've never had a problem.

Plus if you turn them into paper you will get cute designs and not just a nondescript blue card. I have minnie on my AP and denny has mickey. So much better for the organizationally challenged!

we don't get out until the end of June so they have about 6 weeks of daily practice/training which includes a couple summer tournaments and then they get 3 weeks off before tryouts start. Tryouts start 2 weeks before school starts and last 2 weeks. First match is the first week of school.

Me too on the DVC. It won't be THAT near though..I don't think.

We booked very far out. Unfortunately I had to change our dates and lost our killer tickets. Got a better room price but less days on our tix. Their prices definitely go up but keep an eye out for promo's as they do have them.

When are you thinking of? Their rates drop a ton after 8/15 if it's a summer trip.

I always worry about paper getting wet....

Hey Cynthia. Been catching up on things. Sorry to hear about the YC key card mess. Hopefully that all works out okay. I am excited to hear how it all turns out.

It must have some tyvek in it or something similar. I mean, I'm sure you could really destroy if you wanted to, but it should survive normal wear and tear and spills. Will it survive the laundry????? Honestly, I don't know. But I don't know if the plastic would still work after that either.

Thanks GB! It may have a silver lining....we will see!

good to know! I do like the idea of them looking vastly different than the room keys. And of course our room keys might end up being a bit odd anyway, 5 of us are on one room (for payment purposes) 3 on another and 1 technically is homeless (so we don't have to buy him the big tickets on the other room, we will add him when we get there) but regardless, we won't be sleeping the way the room keys are currently laid out and will have to move it around once there. It will be interesting to see how all that works out. Especially given that I'm not exactly sure who will sleep where other than we will figure it out there.

Connecting rooms would of course eliminate it as an issue. Fingers crossed!

Keepingmy fingers crossed for connecting rooms! We had them at CSR and I wish we didn't! Before I knew it all the boys were running back and forth between both rooms, throwing pillows, and jumping on the beds! I could not get the inside doors locked fast enough! :rotfl:

One FYI about future DVC trips. Everyone in the room/villa has to be on the same dining plan - non negotiable. So while your guests can have different length of stays, everyone needs the same dining plan for the same number of nights. I find that a bit annoying and inflexible.

:rotfl: I totally remember that from your TR!

Thankfully those who "might" be inclined to do that (Sir Evan) will be held in check by the rest of us. 3 teenage boys together, not all brothers, a different story entirely!

It's the same issue with CRO reservations unless you book the rooms separately, the whole thing is annoying if you ask me. I mean why can't you get the DDP even if you don't have tickets if you are staying on property and why can't it be for however many days you want? It wouldn't be that hard for them to do and I bet they'd get more people doing it.

Oh well.

I agree with you. Maybe there IS a logical explanation for why they can't be flexible with the dining plan, but I have yet to figure out wheat it is!

I think they figure they will make more this way by forcing it but I'd argue it's the opposite. I mean I can't imagine it would be that much more difficult. When your KTTW card is out of credit's it's out, right? Just an input change initially.

Heck it would let people buy MORE if they wanted to create that hybrid between the DDP and the Deluxe. Or between the QSP and the regular. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

Good morning, my friend. Looks like you had a busy weekend. :goodvibes
