Lie about age with My newly 3yr old?

DisKim - the CM's at the entrance gates are trained to look out for children that appear to be over 3 and don't possess entrance media. I know first hand, since my 3 year old was in the stroller once, and I was a little slow getting her pass out. I took my pass out, and wheeled the double through. The CM then asked my DD, not me, her age, and of course she replied 3!! Well, since I had a ticket it wasn't a big deal, just pulled it out and had it swiped. It would have been an embarassing situation if I didn't. I wouldn't want to teach my 3 year old to lie, so I'd buy the ticket. But, it seems like you've already decided not to, and it's situations like this that cause ticket prices to be out of control for the rest of us. Like auto insurance for those insurance frauds, etc.

I hear you DISKIM....My GF'S son is slightly BIG for his age...but she thinks she may be able to slip him past the CM's at the gates. What do you think? (LOL)

Maybe. Her baby needs a shave though.

Looks like a can of worms being opened. I would pay for a three year old to get in. I know of people who wouldn't. If you can live with the fact that you are teaching your child a very serious no-no(lying, cheating) then go ahead. Or to do it honestly, go the day before she turns three. Disney is all about check in date.;)

BWA-ha-ha! That is the funniest picture I have seen!
This was a set-up question for some humor I think! :p

Most toddlers and small children are very proud when they have had a birthday and will announce it loudly. Sometimes they even believe that Mommy and Daddy have forgotten that they had a birthday. I would think it would be very embarassing to be corrected by your toddler.

Without ETHICS...there isn't a lot left to say! I agree with most of the posts...if you can't afford the ticket, don't go! It is sad to see people lie to their kids. If you can't trust your parent who can you trust? At 3 kids are picking up all kinds of values good or bad.

Ok, I am being very honest here. My partner's mother took my partner's brother (that would be my now brother-in-law only I ain't actually married) to Disney many, many years ago when he had just turned 10. They didn't pay for an adult pass, they bought a child's pass as though he was only 9. No questions asked. (He's going back this year, age 21, and has an adult pass;) )

Some could say that's not quite as bad as not paying for any kind of pass at all, but I might be wrong there.

Is a 10 year old able to enjoy anying that a 9 year old can't?

Maybe it's not wrong but, in my opinion, passes should go on height restrictions rather than age, or else they should go on what an adult can experience rather than a child. Just my opinion.

What about someone that isn't able to get in and out of a wheel chair? They can't enjoy all of the rides, should they be charged a lower price to enter the parks? What about a blind person?

What about grandparents that just want to see their grandkids enjoying the parks, but don't want to ride anything?

I think if you have to lie and cheat in order to take a vacation, then you shouldn't go.

The legal answer to this question:

WDW requires that you purchase a park pass for a child that has attained the age of 3.

Should you choose to lie about your child's age, that is your issue and will be determined by any conscience you may possess.

This question has been asked and answered and further discussion is suited to the debate board.

Welcome to the DIS DisKim I hope you enjoy planning your trip.

Have a nice day.
