We went through it too! it was just awful and I have BOYS! I had to notify both the grammer school and the pre school and that was 2 phone calls that I NEVER want to repeat! The pre school sent our notices that they was a case of lice and what they were doing to get rid of it. I had to notify both locker partners of my older DS (thank god I'm friendly with the moms!)
I washed their towels everyday, bedding, pillows, clothes, combs, jackets. I had to wash the couch throw pillows, blankets and covers and vaccum daily. I took the dog to the vet to be checked and had my van detailed! Rid was $$$$ and the 10 days in between treaments was a nightmare! It took me an hour every morning to get them ready for school. I washed their hair, rinsed with vinegar, used the comb and blow dried their hair EVERYDAY for 20 days!!! Don't forget to either wash or spray their backpacks too!!!!
I feel sorry for anyone who has to go through this nightmare....it's been 7 months and still I check their heads every other day, if I see them scratch their head I freak...

Needless to say, being a leader we couldn't tell any of the other mothers where it came from but I was a little ticked off.
