We are going to MNSSHP, so I booked reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, so we can meet the main characters as well at this time! :teeth: Any opinions on the food and does anyone know what they offer for the vegetarians? I've eaten at tons of places on Disney Property and know the places at the parks aren't the greatest...so I'm just curious. :)

I thought the Character interaction was the BEST at any restaurant!

The Food was GOOD >> nothing fancy - Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, Stuffing. Not sure about Veggie Entrees - but the Salad and Green Beans were fantastic!

I loved the atmosphere.. less chaotic than Chef Mickeys!

(BTW>> I saw your wedding pics last week - they were wonderful.. thanks for sharing!)

:tink: I know if you let them know when you order they will give you vegetarian options...and they have several veggie choices.

We did the Liberty Tree tavern on Halloween last year. The food was very good as well as the atmosphere.

This year we will be there on a MNSSHP night as well and have already booked reservations for dinner again.

Works out really well, plus the characters are somewhat in costume.

My wife and I ate lunch there several years ago and I was really happy with the place. Although the decor wasn't all that special (I live in Connecticut - half of the restaurants up here are decorated like that), we did enjoy the food. Sorry, didn't check out the veggie selections.

A few weeks ago we went back for the character dinner and I was completley underwhelmed.
Food was served family style, but fortunately it seems that it spent enough time in the microwave between being unboxed and served because it was warm enough to eat.
Lets use that as my review of the evening - "at least the food was warm enouth to eat" - and leave it at that.

The characters - Chip, Dale, Minnie & Goofy stayed with our party no longer than they had to then went zipping off as quickly as possible.

I'm sure others have had better experiences, so don't let my rather bland time discourage you. It may have just been a bad night, or an exceptionally busy day.

I'm glad to hear many and mostly positive reviews! :) I think it's the best choice for us at the MK for the night, since I don't want to be at CP with Pooh and the Gang...haha! :goodvibes I love Mac N' Cheese, so I think I'll be good! I'm hoping maybe they have a little somethig extra, since I'm a vegetarin. Thanks a bunch! I can't wait to go now! Is Mickey there or just Minnie? ::MinnieMo

When we dined there in May, the table next to us had some family members with food allergies. I was impressed that the chef came out and asked them lost of questions and talked to them about their other options. Maybe they would do the same for you :) Give yourself ample time in there. It was one of our longest meals. We did enjoy it though :)

I also have the Chef come out and take extra time with me at Garden Grill! It was fantastic! I'm glad they will do the same here for me! :)

I know I'm in the minority here (so far) but I think the food stinks. I rate it below counter service. :teeth:
Try Crystal Palace if you want a character meal.

The vegetarian option at LTT is called the Amber Waves of Grain dish. It is on the lunch menu and is a blend of sauteed seasonal veggies, including squash, zucchini, carrots, green and red peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. It is topped with fried onions and infused with "new colony grains", or so says the lunch menu. The dominant spice flavor is similar to a pesto sauce taste. the dish is surprisingly good.

In addition, your vegetarian meal includes any of the side dishes on the regular set dinner menu, including the mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, strawberry vinaigrette salad, and apple cobbler dessert.

usually head chefs only come to the table to handle allergy situations. As a chef's time can be in great demand when multiple guests with allergy are in the restaurant, it is advisable not to mention an allergy to get special attention unless it is legit (this happens!). Do let the server know from the beggining that you are vegetarian.

Contrary to any negative posts and opinions, LTT is a delicious dinner choice, and the food is neither boxed nor microwaved, lol. (Stouffer's is the sponsor, not the food provider...cept for the mac-n-cheese).

The characters are great fun, you'll have a good time and a great meal!

That sounds fantastic!! Making me hungry!! :bitelip: I loved the Veggie options at Garden Grill and 'Ohana, so I'm sure I will love this one too!! :woohoo: Plus...I'm all about some Mac N' Cheese and Stouffer's is the best!!

Put a mark up there for me as a fan of LTT as well. I thought the interaction with the characters was fantastic. We went during the Christmas Party, so it was extra special.

Unfortunately, the table next to us was really rude to our server and I could tell he was struggling to keep his cool, but he was very nice to us. He would be standing there talking to us and the man would just reach behind him and hand the gravy boat to the waiter without a word, expecting him to get it filled. They were terrible!
