I just read in an email from AllEars.net that Liberty Tree Tavern will no longer have character dining???

Has anyone else heard this? :confused3

Yes, this has already started. You can check on the Dining board as there are a few threads there about it. It's a shame IMHO because it was the best character meal around.

Man, that is too bad. Out of our entire trip, this was my favorite character meal, and the whole experience is my FAVORITE memory for the whole trip!!!

I'm guessing it's just more cutbacks because of the economy???

Such a shame. :sad2:

It's sadly true...

Just another example of Disney cutting back as much as possible.

Soon, they'll get rid of the microwaves in the kitchen and just serve all of that Stouffer's food frozen. Slap it down right there on the table.

*smack*

"You're on your own, suckers ! "

(I kid, of course...) :rolleyes1

I doubt its microwaved.

Due to guest demand....

There will be an additional fee for each 30 seconds of microwave time.

that was one of our favorite places, as well. If you look at the character to guest ratio at LTT, it was THE BEST place to see characters.

RIP

it's a shame, we always enjoyed that meal.

The thing is, this was something different too. You can see characters all over the place but most of them are there as just themselves. But at LTT they were dressed up all differently and that was one of the things that drew me there in the first place.

I think Disney isn't thinking on this one. How many people are going to WDW and think "Wow, I'd like a turkey dinner"....people were not going there for the food, it was the characters, and now that there are not characters, do they really think people are going to book this dinner over others?

Don't get me wrong. The food was good. But really, it's just traditional turkey and mashed potatoes. Nothing that is real special.

Now that the characters are gone, there is nothing to make this place stick out.

Oh, I totally agree. Sarcastic as I was being above, I've always had a major case of the 'warm fuzzies' for LTT. It's located in my very favorite part of the MK, and my family and my partner and I and the people that are near and dear to me have had some really lovely times in that restaurant. The stuff of memories, and all of that...

May sound kind of silly, but it kind of breaks my heart that they are discontinuing the characters there.

I truly do not understand the reasoning behind this.

I've been to Libery Tree Tavern on each of our last three trips. The first time the food was very good and the Characters were excellent. The second time the food was ok and the Characters seemed off. The third time the food was awful and there were no Characters. It will be the last time we eat at Liberty Tree Tavern until I start to see posts that it's improving.

Like others said, I too was crushed by this. We love (the food not as much) the general atmosphere and location of this place. I just can't bring myself to go back without characters! It just isn't good enough on its own. Maybe I'll go for lunch.
