Liberty Tree Tavern

Lunch or Dinner?

We love LTT for lunch. The cheesticks are great. Will give it a 9
Never had dinner there so I can't rate it.

With a 1 being horrible, and a 10 being superb in every way, if I am being kind, I would rate this a 4. Worst food in all of DW in my opinion. I've had better food at a Sizzler or similar place. Seriously. That bad.

HOWEVER, if you are going for characters and factor in the convenience of being smack dab in the middle of MK, it raises it to a 6 or 7.

travel addiction is right. The food is poor. We just ate there a month ago.

We had Christmas dinner there last year after hearing that it was the ultimate place to be. Its a great location, the atmosphere and characters were fun, but we hated the food. It seemed very pre-packaged and thrown together to us. They're going to have to really improve their food once the characters are gone or they might have a hard time filling up.

TOTALLY disagree! I absolutely LOVE LTT for dinner. I went to Sizzler and refused to eat and demanded my money back.

I would suggest you try it and decide for yourself. We love it!:thumbsup2

We ate there in May and everyone but me loved it. I went and booked it for our trip next month though. The roast beef was the best thing, mashed potatoes were ok.

WOW! :confused3 I would have to say i totally disagree! I love the food, its like a home cooked meal. Not fancy smancy stuff the kids wont eat! We liked it too as mom and dad-- great when you need a home cooked meal! I would suggest it to anyone!

We are very picky and eat out often. (Not at Sizzler.:snooty: ) If you can go thinking "Thanksgiving Dinner", you should like it just fine.

It's not gourmet...but not much at WDW is.

The macncheese is kind of yuck, but the salad, bread, potatoes, and desert are good to very good.

The meat and stuffing are good to fair.

.02;)

NOT good. I don't understand the raves about this place. I also don't understand why the whole place smells like spaghetti!!! hahaha I like Thanksgiving food, but the quality of the food at LTT is more like a frozen dinner.

we really had a great time when we went for lunch. I can't say about dinner because I've never eaten here during that time. The crab cakes were great.

Lunch is a 9
Dinner is a 5, based on food alone. The only reason I like to go here for dinner is because the character interaction has always been great for my family. I certainly won't be making ADRs for dinner once the characters are gone...at least, not if it's the same set dinner menu they have now.

That's likely because it's all Stouffers food isn't it?

We're going in December because we want to see the characters before they're gone....I don't have high hopes for the food at any of the character places. I expect it to be edible and haven't been disappointed yet....but I'm not paying for gourmet food here, I'm paying for the characters. And by Disney standards it's actually a pretty reasonably priced character meal.

I do agree though, that once the characters stop in January it will be interesting to see what they do to draw people in.......maybe just being one of the few reasonably priced MK table services will keep them going for a while, but word will get out to those who research here or other forums so it could quickly become a "non-researched" guests only type of place. There seem to be a handful of those around, and they seem to do ok, so it may not be enough to shut them down or force improvements though, guess we'll wait and see.

If you're not interested in the characters....I'd not recommend this place at all. But that doesn't leave a lot of quality TS in the park.....Tony's gets panned regularly, Plaza is so so, and CRT is ridiculously expensive (though definitely a "do once for the experience" place in my opinion). So that leaves the other buffet place..Crystal Palace which also is more about the characters than the food quality, but seems to rate higher than LTT does.

Maybe a jump on the monorail and a quick trip to Poly or Contemporary would yield a slightly better rated-for-the-food dinner for you.

The real food is terrible, even the mashed potatoes are gross.

I give it a 1. We won't be going back.

We were there early October of this year and just happened in for lunch. From the sounds of most post it would have been a bad choice; however, I had the roast beef and it was tasty. Possibly I lucked out by chosing the best entree they have to offer. :)

I loved the food! Now, I ate there for dinner in aug. 06 so its been a little while but I did enjoy it. I mean, the food is not different or unique or extravagant, but everyone in my dinner party (7 people...5 adults and 2 children) liked the meal...we especially liked the salad with the strawberry dressing...yum!
I am going back to disney in dec. and I made reservations for my bf and I to eat there...he has never been to disney and I wanted him to experience at least one charcter meal and since they are doing away with the characters soon, I also wanted to go one more time.
I hope I am not disappointed after hearing some of these other reviews...if it is anything like it was a few years back, I am sure it will be fine.

I agree, there has only ever been one character meal (and we've been to most), that our family agrees, based on food alone, we would go back to even if the characters were not there. I'm not saying the food at character meals is bad, but honestly, it's usually just average. That's o.k. though, we are going for the characters, and as long as it's decent food, it works for us. When we want better food we can dine at signature restaurants, the World Showcase, or some of the resort restaurants.

So for dinner on food alone, I don't know, probably not. Like a PP said, the bread, salad and desserts were good, rest was just average. I have had really good lunches there and would return for that meal.:)

DH and I ate there about a month ago, and excluding the character experience I rate the food about a 5. It's edible, but nothing to write home over. And some if it was just... ick. The beef was okay, but don't even begin to get me started on the turkey.

Unless they change some things around, we will not be going back next year. The characters were fantastic, but without them it's just not worth it.. which is unfortunate. We really did have a great time there.

We always go for lunch, have never had a bad meal.

We have never tried it for Dinner.

So our rating would be an 8:thumbsup2
