We (Just my wife and I, no kiddos) are going to WDW in the fall and had our list of restaurants all laid out. However, our travel agent, who just got back from Disney, saw it and suggested that we replace Liberty Tree Tavern with Be Our Guest. My wife went to Liberty Tree Tavern ten years ago when she was 12 and loved it (this is my first time at Disney). We just don't know what to do here. I prefer the look of the food at LTT, but I know they both have a great menu. Our agent wasn't being pushy or anything, but we are having a hard time weighing the options. LTT is actually rated a little higher than BOG on the Touringplans website, but everyone keeps saying that Be Our Guest is a must do. Help!

BOG is hard to get a ADR, I would take the first ADR which probably will be Liberty Tree and keep looking for BOG if you do get the reservation don't think twice and choose BOG and drop LTT

We have eaten at both. As far as food goes, we prefer Liberty Tree Tavern. BOG was good, but for us, LTT was a better meal. BOG has a little more atmosphere.

Last year I would have said LTT without hesitating. But around October I think, they changed the menu. While there were still enough options for us, I remember thinking I didn't necessaily like all the changes. Anyway, in March they apparently have listened to the customer and have re-instated a few things and I would be totally on board with saying again - Go with LTT. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2017/...-liberty-tree-taverns-lunch-and-dinner-menus/

That depends on which meal for me. Lunch, I'd definitely go with LTT over BoG, but for dinner we absolutely LOVE BoG. Have had great meals and great service.

LTT is DELISH. SO good. BOG is cool to be in the "castle" but that's pretty much it for me. If you have younger kids that love Beauty and the Beast, dinner at BOG would be comparable with the experience. LLT was amazing in service and food and my history loving self loved the theme. Neither of my kids are really into BATB so a bfast ADR was fine for us.

If it were me I'd go with Liberty Tree, provided we are talking about lunch (I'm not a fan of the thanksgiving dinner served at dinner time). Be Our Guest is good for counter service, but at the end of the day it is still just that counter service. Now that Liberty Tree has restored a lot of their old menu, its a much nicer experience to sit and enjoy a good table service meal vice dealing with the chaos of counter service.

It depends on what meal you are considering and what type of atmosphere you prefer. We like the food at BOG lunch better than LTT, but I don't really like the atmosphere at lunch - it's very chaotic. LTT is a little more subdued and the colonial theming is pretty neat. At dinner, however, BOG becomes a little more romantic than LTT and the food is good. Yes, BOG is one of those hard-to-get ADR's that many people are trying to snag, but if the atmosphere and menu of LTT appeal to you more and your wife has some nostalgia of the restaurant, I would do LTT.

It really depends on your goal: BOG is much more romantic and we found the food much better than expected (went for the first time Friday night). Service was also great at BOG. Plus, wine! LTT is wonderful - great (probably a bit better, on average) food, great service - but no one would call it romantic for a couple. I'd do lunch at LTT and dinner at BOG, if you can get that hard to get reservation. Have a lovely trip!

We love thanksgiving food, so that's a major pro for us for LTT, actually. :P

Thanks! This is very helpful. I appreciate that you gave some compelling pros and cons for both. We're definitely leaning toward LTT since we can always do a QS at BOG but not the other way around with our DDP table credits.

Like others have mentioned, BoG for dinner would be my preference over lunch - to meet The Beast.

LTT menu has mostly reverted back after recent menu changes.

As I said, "LTT menu has mostly reverted back after recent menu changes."
Exactly, but the turkey dinner was my husband's favorite and he can't get it anymore. So we skip LTT now.

For the food I would say LTT for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is nice at BOG but I don't love the food. We have tried BOG several times and it was the same each time. The food is okay but not something that I would go back for. I am not a steak person - my DH and kids do and they say it is excellent but the dishes that I had were just okay. The last time we celebrated my DDs birthday at BOG we were in the West Wing and we did not enjoy it - it was dark and loud with all the thunder. We couldn't really hear ourselves talk.

I would chose LTT. We are going in the summer and we are eating at LTT twice and not BOG.

We have eaten at LTT, BOG Dinner and BOG lunch our last few trips. This time, we aren't doing BOG Dinner. We all thought it was good, but we want to try Skipper Canteen and 3 dinners at MK didn't work out.
