I have heard it is like stouffers. I am not familiar with stouffers. Does this mean the food is not fresh out the oven, or is it prepared elsewhere with stouffers seasoning and then reheated, or is it processed and then heated and cookie-cut straight out of the can?

We have eaten here several times at lunch and one time for dinner. The only stouffers I seen was mac-n-cheese on the Kids menu.

We have never had a bad meal here. Always fresh homemade taste to us.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to make sure the turkey is(tastes like) slow roasted with hot juices perhaps with a little bit of carmalized hardened skin, perhaps a wing, and some strands of dark meat, but not just some sort of manufactured spam remake.

I posted to another LTT question today stating that I was alarmed to see "Sponsored by Stouffer's" on the menu... but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal.

The turkey was real roasted breast meat, not from a processed "pressed" turkey breast. There was no other type of meat (no dark meat or wing). I can't recall for sure but I think it was skinless. Good gravy and real mashed potatoes (not instant).

Not as good as a homemade Thanksgiving meal but still very good!

I was kind of shocked too, to see Stouffers on the sign. But, I really didn't know until I saw it. The turkey is always good and the mashed potatoes are awesome. Go for it... it's a good meal and a nice atmostsphere. Good luck.

We actually thought the food was quite bland and DID taste processed.

Stop it! You're making me hungry! :teeth:

Sorry, I hadn't been to lunch yet when I was typing :earsboy:

I'll probaby give them a try. A previous poster said it may have been bland. I can always add some salt or hot sauce if thats the case. They do have hot sauce at Walt Disney don't they?

I enjoyed LTT very much and I hate processed food ! :earboy2:

I was reading a menu and it only said Stouffers Mac & Cheese. It didn't say everything was souffers.

I had to say this, but a lot of restaurant food in general is prepackaged.

In addition to really good turkey, they have really good ham and flank steak. I thought the stuffing might be the Stouffers variety but since I like that I was okay with it! We thought this was the best meal we had at WDW last trip. Of course it was our first night, we knew we were going to see Spectro and Wishes after dinner so they probably could have served us Gerber baby turkey and we would have been happy! Seriously, the food tasted fresh and didn't taste like it had been laying around on a steam table like some of the buffets we had (but we liked those too cause we're pigs!).

My DH and DD really liked the turkey. I honestly thought the meal tasted like a TV dinner....But I still love it there!!!

I agree. We were VERY disappointed in the meal and my kids hated the restaurant. I was just stunned because this place gets raves.

By the way, the turkey is like a turkey breast and is sliced. It seemed kind of uniformed shaped from what I remember.

We are definitely foodies and have high expectations... but we love the turkey dinner at LTT. Call it comfort food, but we think it's great! The restaurant just oozes Disney, in my opinion.

I remember Disney dining to be cutting edge top of the line. I had some mexican food at the CR during the 80's - fantastic, before sour cream and nachos took off around the country. Universities and such were trying to copy the Disney plan. So I had high expectations for this upcoming trip, but now I have just realistic ones..

Agree with those who said LTT dinner tastes very processed! Turkey, IMO, did not taste anything like a slow-oven-roasted turkey. Tasted like it came from a frozen dinner to me.

ElizabethB,

Do you have any recomendations as to which character meals and resort dinings you would eat at?

Thanks

pirate: This October, we are planning to try Crystal Palace for breakfast, and the Garden Grill for dinner.

I subscribe to the weekly trade publication "Nations Restaurant News." It is amazing/astounding/disappointing how much restaurant food is pre-packaged/frozen/canned or not otherwise made on site. If you look at the ads in NRN you will realize that a whole lot of the things you think are homemade at restaurants really aren't. :sad2:
