Liberty Tree Tavern Question: Dry meat??

Hello!

LTT was the only restaurant that I definitely wanted to go to for dinner during our future trip. I had read many good reviews about LTT, and liked the menu (good, plain food!) and the fact that it is sit-down, served family-style.

Recently, however, I have also read several negative reviews saying that the meats were dry, especially the ham.

I would like to hear the opinions from people who have been to LTT recently, about the quality of the food and character interaction, and just opinions on the dining experience in general.

Also, a question: If you are unhappy with the quality of a food there (too dry, overcooked, etc.), can you ask for another (moister/rarer) serving of this food?

I think I would still like to try this restaurant, but the negative reviews are making me nervous...

I haven't been here since last Sept but the food was perfect. We are going bacvk this sept. I am sure you can tel them it was under the heating lamp alittle long and would like it less cooked if it taste bad.

We've always enjoyed LTT and nowadays (since everyone in our family is older - Mom + Dad + 3 sons 24,18,17) it's the only character anything that we go to. We enjoy the food, and the characters tend to be much more 'gentle' here at least to us. We like the fact that the meal is all-you-can-eat, but offers better food than can be found at many of the buffets (at least in our opinion). Now, is the food as great as something you'll find at 'Ohana's? No. But, if you're in the park and you want something good and character interaction, I would say that LTT is something to definitely try.

It was wonderful when we where there last week. So go give it a try, you never know what cook is working and who is fixing it today could be the best ever and tomorrow could be the worse(But I highly doubt it).

I take all the reviews I read with a grain of salt. I like to form my own opinions. We are trying LTT for the first time before MNSSHP. I am excited to try it! :)

Thanks for the positive opinions, everyone!!

I suppose that I just wanted to ease my mind about this.

LTT is still a "definite" for our future trip! I like the idea of this place being (hopefully) less of a "zoo" than, say, the character buffets, with people getting up and down all the time for food and so forth. It sounds like character interaction at LTT is just as good as at any other character meal.

Does anyone else have a recent dining experience at LTT? Your opinions are more than welcome!!

We met friends and their parents at MK for one day of our Spring Break. I had suggested we do LTT as we had such a good experience there 18 months earlier.

The cast was our friends, her parents, their 2 children (a boy 9 and a girl 7) and our two boys (5 & 10). The CM put the adults at one table and the kids had their own table right next to us. At first we were all a little worried. It turned out great.

The CM spoke with the kids, told jokes and had lots of fun with them. Even tried to get the 5 year old to eat (he never eats, we feel the cost of going to the dinner was "entertainment"). When the kids were full, he gave us their platter as well, that meant we had more than enough to eat!

The characters came around often and spent time at the kids table and the adults table as well. Our friends mom got lots of attention from Pluto.

We left full, happy and refreshed and ready for the rest of the evening.

We ate at LTT prior to MVMCP in 2002 and 2003. Each time, we found the food quite good. The character interaction was pretty good too. We are booked for our third year in a row and are looking forward to it. It's something of a tradition now.

LTT is an all you can eat so they will continue to bring out food as long as you wish. As with any restaurant if the food is not satisfactory you can send it back for better quality.

I have been there several times and have never been disappointed. Since there is such a turnover of diners the food doesn't seem to sit around too long. I just wish they would bring back the pineapple sauce they used to serve with the ham.

We LOVE Liberty Tree Tavern. We ate there on our last trip 2 years ago for the first time...we loved it so much that we ate there twice during that trip.

We also have made PS to eat there twice our upcoming trip.

The food is not only great...the character interaction is wonderful and the slow pace is so nice.

Can't wait to eat there again...Yum-Yummy

I was on the fence on whether to try this restaurant and after reading all these comments I think we'll give it a try. Thanks !

Have always had 1 meal here during our stays. I have found the food has slipped a little over the years, remember it being awesome. While the food is still good, they have change the ham too a dry meat ham chop. Never cared for their macarone and cheese.

I will still return because over-all I like the meal, love the atmosphere, great character interaction, like family-style dinners better then buffets, I avoid the things I don't like at this meal. Have never left hungry or felt cheated.

I will return.
