I know they have a fixed price menu with turkey and ham, but can you order a la carte items like sandwiches instead (the same ones they have at lunch?).

No. The dinner is the all you can eat, brought to your table price fixed meal.
Ala carte is only offered at lunch.

I would agree. Although, im pretty sure one time i was told by the server there that i am able to order off the menu if i wanted. We've been there quite a few times for dinner. She offered me a menu. Maybe its best to call and ask?

There isn't a menu with choices at dinner, it is more of a list like you might get at a wedding or something where the menu is pre-set, unless you have an allergy or something I don't think there are options.
