Liberty Tree Tavern + Dessert Party...Too Much?

I have booked the dessert party at MK for the 12/30 for myself and DH. Mostly want a nice view of the fireworks without having to stake out a spot during one of the busiest times of the year. The dessert is an added bonus.

I had booked us for Tony's Town Square for dinner. I'm not picky about Italian and have eaten at Tony's before, but my husband is Italian and now I am thinking he will scoff at a meal at this restaurant. My original plan was to eat a light TS meal (just entrees).

I also booked Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:40 and have never eaten here before. It is AYCTE and I am thinking that coupled with the dessert buffet at the party it might be too much food. Dessert party would be at 10:40. Is this enough time to digest? Should I book an earlier dinner or leave it as is? Would others who have eaten at the Liberty Tree give me an idea of how filling the food is?

That's enough time but I doubt the DP starts that late. Usually 2 hours before fireworks we line up.

I've never done the dessert party before. Do you mean that we would line up for the midnight fireworks at 10pm and would have to be at the DP before then in order to have dessert?

So you have ADRs for 2 dinners and the dessert party on one of the busiest nights of the year. Others are unable to get any ADRs that night. Please cancel what you will not use

The fireworks are at 11:50 pm on Dec. 30, so a 10:40 pm dessert party start time makes sense.

Which dessert party did you book? Terrace or garden viewing? If terrace viewing, you will want to be there early to get a good table, but you don't need to be there 2 hours before the party starts! I would probably line up 30, maybe 45 minutes before. If you are doing the garden viewing, you don't even have to be there at 10:40 pm unless you want to get out of the park crowds. We did the garden viewing in mid-December and showed up about 40 minutes late. It was plenty of time to eat dessert and go out to the garden.

Yes, I think eating at LTT at 4:40 pm with the dessert party at 10:40 pm is PLENTY of time to digest your early dinner!

I do not like to keep reservations for the sake of keeping them. I made the second reservation this afternoon and came on the board for advice so that I can quickly finalize my plans.

Thanks everyone for your kind replies. I believe we are going to stick with the Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:40.

There is nothing wrong w holding more than 1 adr while firming plans

Now if you are hoarding 15 bog adrs I might get a little judgy :ssst:

Ltt early then a later dp sounds like a great idea. And a decent time spread between

Have a great time!

The dessert party always starts well before fireworks. It's good to line up to get a good seat early. If that's the DP you are talking about.

Both of the places she mentioned still have availability that night. So do dozens of other places. Calm down.

I think you should go in with the expectation that you're not going to eat your money's worth at a dessert party. I did two and maybe spaced dinner too close but still... if you go in expecting to have "dessert" you'll be fine. If you go in expecting to eat the thanksgiving dinner volume equivalent of dessert, that is probably not going to happen no matter when you do it.
