Liberty Tree Tavern ADRs

Yeah, I've heard about that as well. Not sure exactly how this is managed....do they actually turn people away from a park when it's at capacity...like at the entrance? Suppose you have FP+ for that park?
Park closings due to capacity happen in stages. It doesn't matter whether you have a FP or not. MK will probably have some kind of closure at some point. This explanation is from touringplans.com:

Note that what is below is what we believe to be true; however, Disney does not publish its park closure procedures and may change its practices at any time.

Phase 1 Closure
Casual visitors are turned away at the automobile toll plazas. This means that people without tickets, those with one-day, single-park tickets, and those intending to use cast member passes will not be allowed to park.

Other guests may enter such as:

  • Those with multi-day or multi-park tickets
  • Those staying at a Disney Resort
  • Annual Passholders
  • Those re-entering the park that day.
  • Those "hopping" from another park.
  • Those with in-park reservations or appointments.
  • Those arriving via Disney transportation
The following are dates within the past 5 years when Walt Disney World parks have reached, yet not gone past, a Phase 1 capacity closure:

  • Magic Kingdom: December 25, 26, and 29, 2014
Phase 2 Closure
The only guests allowed through the turnstiles and into the parking lots are:

  • Those staying at a Disney Resort
  • Annual Passholders
  • Those re-entering the park that day.
  • Those "hopping" from another park.
  • Those with in-park reservations or appointments.
  • Those arriving via Disney transportation
The following are dates within the past 5 years when Walt Disney World parks have reached, yet not gone past, a Phase 2 capacity closure:

  • Magic Kingdom: April 8 and 9, 2009; December 28 and 30, 2009; December 29, 2010; December 25 and 28, 2011; December 24, 25, and 30, 2012; December 25 and 30, 2013; July 4, 2014; December 31, 2014.
  • Hollywood Studios: December 29, 2009 and December 28, 2011
  • Animal Kingdom: December 28, 2009 and December 28, 2011
Phase 3 Closure
The only guests allowed through the turnstiles and into the parking lots are:

  • Those staying at a Disney Resort
  • Annual Passholders
  • Those with in-park reservations or appointments.
The following are dates within the past 5 years when Walt Disney World parks have reached, yet not gone past, a Phase 3 capacity closure:

  • Magic Kingdom: April 7, 2009; December 29 and 31, 2009; March 30, 2010; December 25 and 31, 2010; December 31, 2011; December 27, 28, and 31, 2012; January 2, 2013; March 25-28, 2013; July 4, 2013; December 31, 2013.
Phase 4 Closure
The park and parking lot are closed to all arriving guests. The only Phase 4 Closure in the past 5 years has been Magic Kingdom on April 7, 2009.

I noticed the calendar is active for Nov. 20 onward for LTT and will let you search for reservations, but none are available (unless they are all already gone).

I was able to get a reservation on Thanksgiving Day in the afternoon. Super happy about that!! I just kept looking. I was able to get that about a month ago. Now, I just need to get my family up and going to get to the park at opening to ensure we are able to get in. I am thinking the park could reach capacity on Thanksgiving Day.
Possible but so very highly unlikely. They reach capacity of level 1 during Christmas week for short periods so you'd even get in at that point with an ADR. It's going to be quite rare to see it happen other times and to the point you'd be turned away

Crossing my fingers we are able to go the week of the soft opening! Thanks for the info, Rusty Scupper!

It's been like that for weeks. I've been searching for a lunch ADR for mid-December since the beginning of Oct. :(

1) Sho-nuff!
2) capacity is capacity.
3) If the fire guys found us over capacity, it is serious.
4) And includes a MAJOR fine as a penalty.
5) And, Disney doe snot like paying fines (or salaries, for that matter).

how is it that on april 7, 2009 the parks reached but did not past Phase 3 and also reached Phase 4? (also 2009 is not in the last 5 years)

We arrive on the 18th of Nov. I have been checking for weeks and I can't get anything. This will probably be our first trip EVER not eating there. :(

• its touring plan's explanation. Complain to them

I posted the touring plans quote to explain what each stage of closure involved.

It may be possible that it reached both phases at different times of the day and Touring Plans simply messed up their wording.

For example: let's say at 12:00PM MK reached a Phase 4 closure, then dropped down to a Phase 2 closure around 2:00PM but then hit a Phase 3 Closure around 8:00PM.

Not just that, but you want to get as much in early as you can. We were there a few years ago for Thanksgiving and forward, and that weekend was nuts. We avoided the parks as much as we could.

Does anyone know if the lunch (a la carte) and dinner (family style) dining styles will be the same as they were?

I want to know this too. We love the dinner but hate the new dessert. We used to love the apple crisp instead of the cake.

I think, all of a sudden, there will be reservations and....poof!....they will be gone. Only the lucky few will get in!

Does anyone know of anywhere online, they are reporting progress on the renovations?

I think they will just appear too! I am hoping to get a lunch ADR but if not, we already have CP booked. I would drop it though because I also know that kids would like to go there and we are three adult women, but the TS options are so darn limited!

All good information!! Thank you!! Looking forward to it! Have to be in early, then lunch at LTT, all so my husband can make it to ESPN to watch the Packers on Thanksgiving night!
