Jim Hill is reporting that characters will be returning to LTT. The item on his website claims that Disney has lost $250K in revenue from the drop off in business since this bone-headed change and they've decided to reinstate them, possibly by late April.

Now, I know JH is not always reliable, but I sure would like to see this happen. Maybe Disney will reverse at least one bad decision they've made lately..... ;)

I'm with you on this one! My family was upset-my DD15 was devastated-that they removed the characters. It has become a family tradition for us to go there......

Fingers crossed that the characters return!:thumbsup2

WOW - that would be good news if it turns out to be true. We have always eaten at LTT on each of our past trips, but will not be eating there this year since there are no longer characters there. LTT without characters just doesn't seem worth it.

This would be amazing if they would bring back the characters. Although it does have good food, the main draw was the characters. I know that I personally miss them a lot; Dale and I have a history there! :cool1:

We are not doing LTT this time because of no Characters. The food may not be the best, but at least you knew what you were getting. It was also nice to eat in the Magic Kingdom.

I was thinking about eating there as I ate there once years ago and loved the atmosphere. When I went to check the official website for info about the tavern the character info was still on there - this was at the end of February - more than a month after there were no longer character meals. The website may have changed, but I think they've been rethinking this right from the start.

I've always enjoyed eating there for dinner the same night I had tickets to MNSSHP. When they made the decision to no longer have LTT has a character dining experience, I was so disappointed. Not only for myself, but for my nephew. I'm taking my nephew to WDW to celebrate his 10th birthday in October. It will be his first visit and of course the plan was to eat at LTT and attend MNSSHP. I was so bummed that he wasn't going to get to eat with the characters.

So I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that an official announcement is not that far away.

We ate there in January without the characters there. It just wasnt the same. We were in and out in no time and there did not seem to be much of a wait to get it. Hope they fix this mistake.

This was one move that I can truly say made absolutely ZERO sense on Disney's part. In January there was NOBODY in thew restaurant.

I mistakenly made an ADR for LTT for our trip in Feb., assuming the characters were going to be there. When I figured it out and called to cancel, they were actually surprised. :rotfl2:

I think a lot of people must have done the same thing because we could have had a walk in on a Saturday afternoon during President's Day weekend.

I hope Jim Hill is correct on this one. I always thought it was a dumb mistake by WDW to remove the character dining from LTT. The food is OK, but if it wasn't actully for the Character Dining, I wouldn't waste my time by going. My family had already decided to skip LTT when we go to WDW in Sept. If WDW makes an official announcement, DW and kids will be so excited! :yay:

I'll be one of those people canceling the ADR I made today based on this "rumor" if it doesn't come to fruition. LTT was one of my favorite character meals, especially because food was served family style and you never had to worry about being up at the buffet area when a character came by your table.

We weren't going to have any dinners at LTT during our upcoming trip, but if the characters are back, we'll be there twice within 3 weeks. There's an easy $200 Disney could make!

So, they'll bring back the characters and implement a price increase... mark my words!! All in the name of overwhelming guest demand.

I have read on another forum that they will be back as of September. I'd love this if it was true. We would do it on our MNSSHP night. If not though, we will just eat in our villa before the party.

We've never eaten at LTT, with or without characters, because we prefer CP at MK (usually on MNSSHP night). If they bring the characters back, we could do lunch at CP on arrival day, and dinner at LTT on MNSSHP night. The MK always closes early on our arrival day (first NOJ, now MNSSHP), and since there's no other place of interest to eat there for lunch, we end up at Epcot. Heck, we were considering arriving the night before because airfare would be cheaper- this would give is 3 extra credits on the DXDP...hmmmm....can't make ADRs till June anyway, so I hope they announce something by then.

when they did have characters did they also have them at lunch time? I can't remember. I would love to try their lunch menu.
