Next time we go to Disney, want to try a new place to eat in MK. How are Liberty Square Tavern and Tony's?

Are you talking liberty tree? We go every year and enjoy the friendly family style meal. Tony's is BAD!!!! We would never go back, it gets horrible reviews. Whispering canyon at wilderness lodge is great food and alot of fun. I highly recommend trying.

We like Liberty Tree Tavern for both lunch and dinner, although lunch gives you more choices, since it's a la carte. Tony's - ate there once and we're in no hurry to go back. The only other TS restaurant we enjoy at MK is Crystal Palace. Most of the time we will leave the park for dinner and go to one of the restaurants at a monorail resort.

We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and loved it! The food was great. We even got to ring the bell to open the reastaurant for the day! Never been to Tony's because of the reviews we read.

Lunch at LTT is very good. DH and I both got the pot roast last time. Although it was delicious, I don't think I would do that again because it was very heavy and rich. The sandwiches and salads are very good.

IMO Tony's gets a very bad rap here on the boards. We ate there in October and it was fine. No way was it gourmet, but it wasn't terrible. either. I had the white flatbread - which they made for me without any added garlic - and DH had chicken parm. I would equate it with what we could get at a good pizza place. There are better, places, sure but it wasn't disgusting.

Another place in MK that we love is the Plaza. They have great sandwiches and some of the best french fries on property. Then of course there is the ice cream...

We loved lunch at LTT. Wouldn't do dinner b/c of the lack of choices. Son inhaled the tavern cheese. And the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake was a big hit with everyone.
We have never been to Tony's, but it gets a lot of hate on the boards. If you are on the DP, it isn't worth using credits for b/c it tends to not be cost effective, but if you aren't, it might be worth trying.

In May we did both.

LTT was very good we ate their for lunch. I had the pasta dish and my wife had the stew. Both were excellent. I don't recall what my daughters ordered but they enjoyed their food too. At least one of them ordered the turkey dinner and was very pleased with it.

Be forewarned, the day we did LTT for lunch it was 95~ degrees and the food was honestly too heavy for that hot of a day. Something to consider. While my wifes stew tasted great (I tried it), no way I could have had a bowl of it because of how hot and heavy the day was.

Also LTT was the only place on out 6 days where we waited for our reservation more than 5 minutes. LTT took over half an hour to be seated. Completely unacceptable compared to everywhere else IMO.

Tonys... well we did Tonys for the experience and also we booked a late dinner with a request for patio to see the parade while we ate. My daughters also love Lady and The Tramp, so it was a must do at the time.

The food was very good. My wife and I both had the Lamb shank and it was a huge chunk of meat and very good. My daughters had a pasta dish and a pizza, which they both liked.

As MK has limited TS, we will probably return to both. We do the DDP and try and eat all of our meals TS. We also don't normally park hop either. We will be back in December and I *think* a new place to eat in Fantasy land will be open for TS. If so, we will skip LTT next time in favor of trying something new.

When we went to LTT the food was good but the service was HORRIBLE. We had ADR's and still waited over an hour. I know you don't get in at the exact time but walk in's were being seated before us. Also there were 3 of us and they sat us at a 2 person table. It wouldn't have been so bad if the dinner wasn't family style. There was almost no room for all the plates of food let alone our plates and drinks. I spoke to management and they pretty much blew me off. The service alone makes me not want to go back but am willing to give it another try.

LTT is wonderful. Tony's consistently gets poor reviews. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

There is no comparison for all five of us. LTT blows Tony's out of the water. We have been to both. LTT is great for lunch. All of the entrees are great but the pot roast really stands out. The ooey gooey toffee cake is my most favorite dessert on property.

I would choose LTT for lunch only. To me, LTT & Tony's are comparable for dinner. If you're Italian or have access to great Italian food often, I'd skip Tony's. If you're from the South or know anyone that can cook home style, country cooking even moderately well, definitely skip LTT. We preferred Tony's, but I can throw a meal like they serve at LTT on the table in 15 minutes, by using the grocery store deli & frozen food section. No one I know would put that food on their dinner table. I'm sure the same could be said for Italians & Tony's. If you're just looking for a convenient meal, both places serve edible food. Neither are on our return list any time soon. We would return to Tony's under the right circumstances (a light meal to watch a parade, for example). LTT dinner is off the list completely.

I would say LTT for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake alone...make sure to go for lunch since it's not offered at dinner! ;)

We dined at Liberty Tree tavern last month and loved it! We ate there for lunch. Mom had the colony salad and I had the pot roast. The portions were huge and either dish could have been split between two people. Prices were reasonable too. It was relatively quiet inside and a nice relaxing meal. We shared dessert, ooey gooey cake I think it was called. All food was great and we'd definitely return!

Liberty Tree blows Tony's out of the water. Tony's is horrendous and a disgrace. Its beyond disgusting. If you enjoy wasting your money by paying for food thats not even edible, then give it a shot. Otherwise, i'd suggest you save your money/dining credits and eat elsewhere.

We've been to Liberty Tree a few times and have ALWAYS had a great meal there. Its delish.

We love LTT, we have been there several times. We never have made it over to Tony's. We always have good food and service at LTT.

We went to LTT at the last minute and was pleasently surprised. We had gone 10 years ago and it was okay then. But I have to say last year it was very good and we'll definetly go back.

We tried Tony's years ago but didn't like it at all. It may be better now but we have no intention of trying it again.

We liked LTT because it was something different during the week...a true home-cooked meal. We ate there for dinner and liked the family style, especially for the kids. They ate the ham and potatoes and were happy as clams. It was a nice break from chicken nuggets/peanut butter/hotdogs.

Tony's should be skipped.

We ate at LTT in Nov for the first time and LOVED it. We had a very nice dinner before we went to MVMCP. We waited maybe 10 min, service was great and food was even better.
Even my very picky DS has said that it is a must do for our next trip.

Tony's is not "horrible" or inedible. It's fine. It's not super extra awesome. My DD requested another meal there, we had lunch there in May of 2010.

I had the chicken parm. I liked it.
