The intermittent downpours kept the crowds low at Epcot so after a very productive afternoon we headed over to our dinner reservations at Teppan Edo. Our reservation was for 6:05 and we only waited a couple minutes before we were shown to our seats.
This was our last day, and Grammie and I had realized that Alice had never worn the Tinkerbell outfit that she had brought from home. We figured she could wear it to meet characters at Epcot, but then the rains came, so she ended up wearing it for dinner. Not sure what Tinkerbell has to do with Japan, but she was happy. Here she is:
All the CM's here were EXTREMELY polite. One of them did a special little trick with elastics and paper and put the kids' chopsticks together so that it was easy for them to use them. For drinks, Grammie ordered hot tea, I ordered green tea and the kids had lemonade. Here is a pic where you can see mine and Grammie's drinks. The green tea was pretty flavorless. Mostly tasted like water.
Here is our chef cooking the food on the grill.
He looks like he would be very serious, but he was actually quite funny and joked with all the kids at the table. In addition to Buzz and Alice, we were sitting with a family of 4 who had a daughter who looked to be a couple years older than Buzz and a son about Alice's age. He did the usual tricks you would expect at this type of restaurant and the kids all found him quite amusing.
We all ordered from the grill:
Grammie had the scallops, I had the shrimp/ steak combo, Buzz had the kids' shrimp and Alice had the kids' chicken. We all loved our meals and ate until we were stuffed except Alice who was still too full from lunch to eat more than a few bites of each thing. Here is my plate with just the noodles and then one that shows everything. (Sorry about the half eaten rice.

)
Buzz - I liked the shrimp. I was glad there was shrimp on the kids' menu. I liked that they cooked in front of you.
Since dessert was included we went ahead and ordered. There is a pretty limited dessert menu. Grammie had the fruit tart and I had the ginger cake. Our opinions could pretty much be summed up by this

Stick with the soft serve or if you are paying OOP, skip dessert and stop by the bakery in France afterward. These were gross.
The kids' meals came with a packaged chocolate chip cookie.
Buzz - Even their cookies were bad.
Couple of notes:
1)When we were seated, they wanted to put both the kids on the end of the table as that is where there is the most distance between the children and the very hot grill. Makes sense, but Alice + in the evening when she is tired + next to Buzz without an adult to reign her in = disaster. I asked if Buzz could sit on the main side of the table and I would sit with Alice at the end and that was fine.
2) At first I thought that our server wasn't coming back then I realize that the CM's were politely standing off to the side. Just flag them over and they will help you right away.
We had a great time at Teppan Edo (minus the desserts) and we were fortunate enough that the rains stopped in time for Illuminations and the small crowds meant it was so easy to find a viewing place! All in all, a great last day.
