WDW vets here, traveling to DL for race weekend in just a few days. First time back to DL in 25 years (and first time DD will actually remember the trip!) so we are really looking forward to it all. Still haven't decided on transportation from the airport (and since I'm a big planner this is stressing me out!) We're flying JetBlue from the east coast & arrive at 9am on Thursday. I'm thinking a taxi would probably be the easiest option even though it's just the 2 of us. I've also looked at Karmel Shuttle. Flying back at 9:30 PM on Monday ~ taxi / shuttle?

I'd appreciate any thoughts from DL vets who fly in/out of LGB :) TIA!

I always take a taxi from LGB. It's a very small airport and the shuttles tend to be expensive. From Orange County airport, on the other hand, I usually take a shuttle! You'll spend as much or more on the LGB shuttle as for a taxi and it's so easy to just walk over and hop into a taxi. No reservation needed. It isn't cheap, though, so figure somewhere around $45 for a taxi each way.

Another possibility is Uber taxi, though I've never used them myself. It's a service where individuals drive you to your destination for a set fare. I don't know much about it but it's supposed to save you money if you're into that kind of thing. I also don't know what all those categories mean! Here's a quote from their site:

FARE QUOTE Long Beach airport to Disneyland Hotel

uberX $16-21
uberXL $36-48
UberBLACK $65-85
UberSUV $83-106

I'm with DizMe - we always fly into Long Beach (gotta love Jet Blue!) and take a cab. It's a flat rate and oh so fast; you pay a lot for your park tickets and we want every minute possible in the magic. Have a wonderful time - your trip will be fabulous regardless of what transportation you choose!

We always rent a car....the rental car places are about 20 steps from the baggage claim carousels. I book the car thru Costco travel (have to be a Costco member) and check the prices several times a week as they do fluctuate. We have gotten care for less than $100 for a week. You can take surface roads or the freeway to DLR and stop at Trader Joes or other places, as necessary.

I'm in the taxi camp. We always fly into LGB early and it's a quick cab ride to the hotel to drop the bags then off to the parks!!

Does anyone know how much cab fare is from the long beach cruise ship terminal to disneyland?

I quoted a cab ride from the Queen Mary (which is nearby to the cruise terminal) to 1313 S Harbor (the general address for DLR) and it came in between $77-$90. Kinda pricey. I'd go for a shuttle if you can find one.

My kids just used this a couple weeks ago and loved it. Not a lick of problems.

They used it for an airport pickup? Was it at SNA? They're not licensed in CA for airport pickups. The Uber app blocks you from requesting a ride, but I've read that Lyft was still allowing them. There have been crack downs at LAX and BUR where the cars were impounded. I think OC is more lenient than LA County, but you may have to walk off airport property for a legal pickup.

Yes, they went from LGB to DLR and return. They said UBER was timely each time and never had a problem. Pick up at the airport.
