Any idea what I should pay for a taxi from the Airport to the City?

Should be about $30 plus tolls and tip.

All told probably about $40.

You could negotiate a flat rate that what I usually do.

Yesterday I took a taxi from south Central park area (west 57th) to LGA (Sunday morning was a great time, took only about 25 minutes). I paid, total, $37.00, including tip and toll (the toll was $4.15).

The driver did tell me that due to an accident we were taking a different bridge than one would normally.

Each taxi I took in NYC had a LED screen in the back; hit the 'map' button on the screen and you can follow your progress. Pretty neat.
