Some thoughts we had about the parks:
Animal Kingdom â This was our first time at AK and we all loved it. I would have like to have more time there just to walk around. Lion King was great, and the Safari was excellent. Our kids loved the Boneyard. The bug movie was the best 3-d movie at Disney in my opinion, but my 6yr old did get a little scared at one point. The only disappointment here was Dinosaur. It just didnâÂÂt do anything for me â very jerky, and there were long periods of nothing but complete darkness (with no obvious purpose to it). Riding through blackness just doesnâÂÂt entertain me. Also, please use caution when taking kids on this ride. A kid next to us was really upset by the end of the ride.
MGM â This was our first time at MGM also. IsnâÂÂt the layout for the TOT incredible? RRC was also a great ride (although one of lifeâÂÂs embarrassing moments - the button on my shorts popped while on that one). But The Great Movie Ride was the best, probably my favorite in all the parks. Overall, however, MGM was probably our least favorite park. It was nice, just not as memorable as the others.
Epcot â We saw some great acts on World Showcase (Chinese acrobats, Norway musicians, etc.). The American Adventure, I think, is one of the best attractions at WDW. Spaceship Earth is always a family favorite, and Test Track is a great ride. However, this was the first time we had done the Energy ride in a really long time, and it will probably be a really long time before we do it again â itâÂÂs not that bad, just, well, really long! HISTA is, our course, a very cool attraction, as is The Land. Our favorite time at Epcot both for Future World and World Showcase is at night. ItâÂÂs is awesome then, and just takes on a different feel.
Magic Kingdom â Of course, the favorite. I think itâÂÂs because there is so much there for every member of the family. Best of the MK for us is:
1. Splash Mountain
2. Peter Pan
3. Pooh
4. Big Thunder Mountain
5. GoofyâÂÂs Barnstormer, and (believe it or not)
6. Mad Tea Party
Least favorites were:
1. Tiki Birds
2. Pirates of Caribbean (sorry Pirates fans)
I have to add that I personally HATE ItâÂÂs a Small World, but my wife and daughters like it. We made sure that we did Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress because rumor has it they will be gone before we get back again, and we enjoyed both.
Although it is true that some of the attractions are dated, there is a part of me that likes it that way and wants it to stay that way. Sentimental guy, I guess.
FASTPASS IS INCREDIBLE. It saved us so much time and frustration. I cannot say enough about it. One question: ShouldnâÂÂt fastpass be added to Dumbo, BTMRR, and Tomorrowland Speedway? Maybe they are working on that . . .
