Letters to Mickey at VGC?

Does anyone know if you can still sit down in the lobby of the Grand Califonian, write a letter to Mickey and place it in his special mailbox?

We are heading there in September and a neighbor told are kids about doing this when visiting a few years ago. It is now all they can talk about.

Just want to start preparing them if it is no longer an option.
