My family will be returning to WDW in August.

Since our last visit we have become Letterboxing Addicts. I see there are plenty of boxes to keep us busy in the Resort.

Has anyone found, or heard of, a box in any of the parks?

Has anyone her ever planted a box? If so how long did it last before Disney found it and it became missing?

Dear Mods. I had no idea which board to put this thread on so I just guessed at placing it here.

I don't think that Disney would like it if folks did it in the actual parks.

Maybe another option for your family would be finding hidden Mickey's.

I really think there is so much at WDW to keep you busy, that I'd do the letterboxing at home or on a different vacation myself.

There are some cool books on neat undiscovered things about WDW - as well as the hidden mickey's. Or maybe I'm wrong, but I think it is kind of a safety issue that folks wouldn't do it at the parks (the letterboxing)

We are going in 2 weeks and have researched some have been used as recently as days ago!!!! There are at least 1 per park and multiple hotel ones. Just don't look here for answers.... you wouldn't want someone who doesn't understand letterboxing to find them and remove them. We are planning to leave one of disney resort when we are there and one in Tampa.

I'm not into Letterboxing, but I am into Geocaching. There are lots of virtual caches in and around the parks. Disney's official position on physical caches is that they are not allowed. You may not hide anything on Disney property. I'm sure that extends to Letterboxing as well, or to anything else that people might hide. There are many physical caches just off Disney property (and throughout the Orlando area) and I suspect there are probably many spots for Letterboxing also.

Are you talking about Geocaching?

We do both but I think walking around with my GPS in hand wandering like I normally do when hunting for a cache makes me look too noticable.

I am much more stealthy when Letterboxing.

Well what Disney doesn't know won't hurt them.....
It's been happening for years, so I doubt a few boxes will take down the empire:littleangel:
