Letter from DVC about changes - anyone get one?

I'm lost on the changes. I had not quite gotten theis reservation thing down yet. I still don't understand the when can I reserve at my place as opposed to other locations.

Is there an easy way to remember how far in advance you can make reservations in the different locations? I feel overwhelmed with the point system, just too new at it I guess.

You are probably overcomplicating it because it's really simple.

Not in any way related to this dining information, you can book a stay at your home resort 11 months from your trip date and you can book a stay at any of the other properties that you don't own 7 months from your trip date. That's it - no counting out days in the calendar or anything - it's months the easy way (so January 10 for a December 10 reservation).

Thank you. It is one of those things I can save easier for if I can just pick up a card at each grocery trip. If I have cash it gets spent. I'm always handing it to someone.

That is a great idea! I always have my disney cash that I try to save - but that is easily grabbed when we want pizza :) I wonder if you could pay using the gift cards over the phone with the new system??

About 2 years ago, I tried to pay for a reservation deposit over the phone with a gift card. At the time, they were unable to accept gift cards by phone, but, that could have changed by now. I haven't tried to do it since. I am glad that it doesn't affect DDP already added, because I have already purchased gift card to pay for the DDP for our upcoming trip in December.

WHOA! Are you saying you now have to be on the DDP in order to make ADRs in advance? That's HUGE change if that's the case. That doesn't sound right, because that means no one staying off site could have any chance of dining reservations.

You don't have to be on the DDP to make ADRs in advance but you do have to be on the DDP tied to a reservation for the 180+10 rule. Unless I missed something and that's changed...?

Having the DDP tied to a room reservation has nothing to do with the 180+10 booking for ADRs. Anyone staying at a Disney Resort can take advantage of the 180+10.

If you are planning on making an ADR for a location that requires prepayment and you want to use credits from a dining plan, the dining plan must be on the room reservation or they will charge your CC when the ADR is made.

Agreeing with Michael. Making 180+10 reservations has never had anything to do with the DDP, only if you have an on-site reservation.
