Lets use this thread to track Port Upgrades

Is it possible to upgrade at the port from 2 rooms to 1? Ex, say 2 cat 11B to a T. Would prob be the only way we would upgrade

It depends on how many ppl there are. But yes you can, as long as your don't have more then five ppl. Basically you would upgrade one cabin and technically you can keep one of the cabins, but you could bring the others with you. I hope that makes sense. Disers have posted on this in the past.

And you pay the full upgrade cost from the one original cabin to the one new cabin. You don't get any credit for the other original cabin as it doesn't even come into play.

I was on the 11/3 Dream that got back yesterday. We were able to upgrade from a 4a to a one-bedroom suite in concierge for only $700. It was awesome! Had I booked it on line, it would have been $3500 more. Was so excited because the last I checked online, there was only one left and the lady in front of me in line upgraded to one too. I got the last one so someone must have canceled.

Congrats!!! Off topic (sorry) but how was the weather/water at Castaway Cay? I have been 3 times this fall (Late Aug, Sept and early Oct). Water was too rough on Serenity Bay to even go in the water. Is there a better time of the year to cruise? Thank you!!

We are heading out today! It's 80 and sunny at the port. Gorgeous!! I'll update as soon as we get back Thursday for Castaway Cay.

Do you think your upgrades were because you arrived early? Last time we checked in late in the afternoon. Should we go earlier?
Thanks,
Jodi

We have two cruises booked. One for DW and I a 5 day on Wonder, and one for the whole family (4) 7 day on Fantasy. Thinking that since the cost of upgrade is based on the room type and has nothing to do with the number of people that for the two of us it won't be much of a deal if we upgrade at port. But for 4 of us it would be a good deal. Anyone else have the same analysis?

When we upgraded last year, they wanted to know which stateroom category we were in, how many in our party and which category of upgrade we were interested in.

That was when the upgrade chart was whipped out and we were told what was available to upgrade into.

It was worth it though!! :thumbsup2

What are the chances of getting an upgrade at port? If 50 days out there is no suites available on website?? I guess things always happen so maybe there is a small chance. lol

I've been to CC in mid Nov, Christmas week, and early May - all wonderful and I was in the water almost the entire day all three times.

If nothing is showing online 4 days out the chances are extremely low.
But as you say, there is always a slim chance. :thumbsup2

Good Luck

Can someone please let me know if its best to wait downstairs when trying to check into port or on 3 rd floor parking? We came early in April and waiting on 3 rd floor from parking garage until port opened and when we got in there, there were already people in and I want to try and upgrade again but there is lmted concierge rooms left so I want to make sure if we arrive early that we wait in the best place and wasn't sure if first floor goes in before 3 rd or at same time. Thanks for the help!!

I really think it's a crapshoot. We waited in the garage in June and there were about 20-30 people ahead of us but we were first in the supervisor's line for an upgrade. I think if you do all of your docs and info online and don't have a bunch of carryon that has to be scanned, you will be better off. But just my 2 cents. Not everyone wants to try and upgrade. So, at least you have that going for you. Good luck!
