Lets use this thread to track Port Upgrades

Can you please explain this to me a little bit....
I saw a video of a family that upgraded to the Royal Suite and then searched to find this thread. Do they automatically offer you an upgrade when you're checking in? Wouldn't these "upgrade" amounts be the same for everyone, if not how do they come up with the amount or decide what they offer families?

Sorry to be so clueless! We had to cancel our cruise a few years ago and are just now booking our first cruise!!! First cruise, EVER. :yay::woohoo::banana::cool1:

No, they don't offer anything to anyone. YOu need to ask if there are any upgrades available, and if there are they will send you to the supervisors desk. The amount is different. They have this very large chart based on what category you have. It is based on that alone.

I noticed the Aug. 10 and Aug. 17 Fantasy cruises don't even show up on the website. Does that mean they are sold out and, therefore, there will be no upgrades available/reported?

I had a message on my phone when I got home today from Disney saying that they had upgraded us for free. We leave on the 15th on the Dream. We had a Concierge family with verandah and now we are going to have a 1 bedroom suite! I am so excited!

Are these upgraded discounted from what you would normally pay for a better room category?

That is amazing!! Congratulations!!! Boat load of pixie dust for sure!!

We are headed on a 3 day next Thursday...I'll report what happens.

Mysteryfan's wife here. We are on the Dream right now for a 3 night cruise. We arrived about 10:30 and checked in around 11:00. Then went immediately to the supervisors desk and got in a line about 6 deep. We had a 4a booked and upgraded to a cat T. Cost at the port was $585. They referred to a laminated chart to figure out the price we needed to pay. I think we and the people next to us got the last 2 cat T rooms. Woot, woot!

Congrats on the upgrade! If I understand it, you checked in at the regular check-in desk and then went way down to the right to the Supervisor's desk (is that where it is)? Did u like your new stateroom?

Actually, our check in space on the long counter was right next to the supervisor's area. The room is awesome...huge tub, two bathrooms, two showers, walk-in closet, double size verandah, dining area, small living room area, three TVs with one in the bathroom mirror. The stateroom reminds me of the model room I saw of the Villas at the Grand Floridian, only better.

We have 2 connecting rooms cat. 11A on our Fantasy cruise next month. Has anyone ever upgraded 2 rooms at the port? They don't have to be connecting, but at least nearby. A few years ago we were upgraded for free from 2 connecting 9C on the Magic to 2 connecting 7A. Would love if that happened again :)

And that is cheaper than you would have paid if you bought it beforehand?

Everyone keeps saying that you have to do this at the port, I'm flying in and I think the check-in process takes place at the Airport before we get on the bus...can you upgrade at the Airport too? How does that work? We don't actually get to MCO till about 11:30am so I can't see us actually stepping into the Port until 1pm at the earliest. The bus ride is a good 45 mins plus all the time to get to the bus and get a boarding spot on the bus...

You don't check in at MCO anymore. (Just for the bus, not for the cruise).

You can if they have them available. It all depends on open inventory and life boats.

We wanted to upgrade last summer from an 10a to a veranda. They had a room that slept four, but they could only upgrade a party of 3 max because of life boat capacity.
