lets talk spanx

i wear either SPANX or the Target version "Assets" almost every workday (which are both made by the same company). when was the last time you bought them? the power panties they make now are supposed to have "no flat butt" construction. and if they are rolling at the bottom, have you tried the ones that go down past you knees but are not full-to-toes hose?

Have your Assets held up? I was very disappointed in mine. They seemed to "fall apart" pretty quick compared to the Spanx I had purchased at Nordstroms.

However, when I moved to the "hide & seek" line it's not at all like the ones at Target so I haven't even bothered with the Assets again. I like the "underware" feel vs the "pantyhose" feel, but it's really a matter of personal comfort.

if i make a mistake and put the Assets in the dryer, the waist band comes apart, but so long as i remember to hang them dry after i take them out of the wash, they hold up pretty good. in terms of control, i think both work about the same (i guess i am in relatively good shape, so maybe my assessment is off), but i actually like the waistband on the Assets more than on my Spanx.

I tried Spanx a couple years ago and despised them. They were horrible quality and I only wore them a couple times before they literally fell apart. Their customer service was awful - I never did hear back from them - after spending almost $100 on a couple pair!

I would suggest looking at the Lee tummy control bottoms. I just bought 2 pairs of the capris and they make my front and back look very smooth. I was so surprised! They do have a higher waist than I would like, but I will take that in exchange for the flat tummy anyday

As of now I just want some extra help in the lower tummy area but Spanx ( as well as other companies) sell cami's that have built in tummy control.

I guess Oprah had Yummie Tummies on her show, did not see the show but I guess those are suspose to be good, but they are pricey.

I'm new at all this bunching, stuffing & shaping, but my cruise is approaching quickly & I just realized today that my dress doesn't quite fit right

So I bought the Assets today at Target & they weren't quite what I was hoping for. I really don't want the pantyhose material but more of an underwear/spandex material. Are all of the real Spanx made that way?

Also, how true are the Spanx sizes? I noticed on the website it says XL = 10-12, but 1X = 18-20....What about the 14-16 range???
