Let's talk sneakers

I need new ones! Anyone have any ideas for some cute yet functional everyday sneakers? Anything EXCEPT Sketchers or ones that look like they belong in a bowling alley? My current ones are falling apart, and nothing is jumping out at me. I need something that goes with everyday jeans and stuff, but are still sort of trendy. My dd tried to talk me into DC's, but they look too skater chic for me. I used to be up to date on all the fashion trends, but now I don't have a clue - can you help me out?

I got some really cute Roos on Zappos last year. They have a little satin asian print inset in the middle and on the sides, and come in lots of colors. I'm not sure if they're still available, but I love them!

All I wear is Sketchers and they don't look like the belong in a bowling alley.
I have seen the ones that do look like that, but they do have others.

I don't wear sneakers for fashion I wear for comfort, so can't help you out with trendy but if you want something that is comfortable (but not Sketchers) than I'd go with New Balance.

New Balance is definitely the best for comfortable walkers, joggers and runners. I typically go a bit off-trail, so I have Merrells for that. My wife swears by Keen, though:

I also go for function vs fashion for shoes. I have Asic tennis shoes.

Thanks for the tips! I normally wear Sketchers, and wanted to try something different. I wish shoes would get out of their ugly phase already!

I'm not a fan of sketcher at all personally.

I have the old school converse "chuck taylor lows" in black. they go with everything.

I'm also searching, and I mean SEARCHING, for a pair of Puma Speed Cat's in a certain color in a size 9.5. holy crap those are hard to find! But those are SUPER cute sneaks...more "street style" then "go jogging in"

I love adidas retro styles. They are not athletic shoes. They are very comfortable. I also have a pair of Nikes that are very cute. Also not althetic- casual "street" sneakers.
