Monday we had a meeting with the contractor. He is recommending using a travertine in the bathroom as a way to SAVE money!

It's what I wanted but was surprised to hear this. He said that using the real stone would allow him (he's the tile guy) to bullnose edges & smooth corners on the tiles himself instead of purchasing those special edges. He said that in a good porcelain tile like we put in the kitchen, it can get really costly when you need a lot of those types of tiles. He also thought he could get a much better finished look going with the travertine.
Yesterday we went to the cabinet shop to finalize the plans for the custom vanity. Should get a price back today.

I look at cabinet pulls & then we went to a plumbing supply store.
I need some opinions on this. I'm trying to replicate the look of my antique bedroom furniture with the bathroom vanity.
Here's a pic of one dresser. This one shows the drawer pull's color pretty accurately.
The pulls are old old brass. I brought a drawer with me & my drawer pulls are much darker than new pulls in antique brass. The antique brass pulls are much shinier & golder. Also antique brass is "out of style" but in replicating antiques it would be good if it was a perfect match. But there is also very limited availability in antique brass in the plumbing fixtures. I really like the oiled/venetian bronze it has a similar tone in shade but a bit browner. The aged pewter is also about right in the depth of color but too silver. I'm thinking I should go with the oiled/venetian bronze color in the pulls & with the plumbing fixtures. All of the plumbing fixtures we want are available in the venetian bronze from delta. So I'm thinking the venetian bronze would be a good choice. The bathroom will be seperated from the bedroom with either paneled double doors or frosted glass doors, so it doesn't have to match perfectly.
