I love it! No periods and you can blame everything on it!

Sorry Honey, I forgot to ~fill in the blank~, it's the menopause. :sad2:

Sorry Honey, I don't know what made me buy that. I know it's expensive. It must be the menopause. :confused3

Sorry Honey, I didn't mean to kick you in your shins but I have anger issues. It came with the menopause.

Sorry Honey, not tonight, you know how menopause effects your hormones. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

When I first started having menopausal symptoms, my youngest DD was only about 3. When she was 5, we were having a fish fry at my church. Well, we got there early and were sitting outside talking to my DH, our pastor and the other men who were frying the food. Several people came up a bit early to buy plates and I wound up holding the money. After a while, I said "Well I better go inside and find the money box before I forget what this money is for and stick it in my pocket." As I was walking away, I heard my DD say to the pastor, "She will too. She can't remember anything since she got THE menopause."

Can't keep any secrets with that one around!

I find menopause strangely liberating.

Now, finally "I" have an excuse...:rolleyes1

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! I LOVE IT

Hey! A thread for me!!

I tried progesterone cream but can't say I noticed much difference. I dont mind the hot flashes at all, my problem is my breasts really, really hurt for about two weeks a month. To the point I can't take a bra off.

I need to find a new gyn, mine has not helped and can't remember who I am from visit to visit. I think it might be time for Hrt.

I am 51 and still having periods. So, when I just stop having a period, I would want to be checked by doctor? At what point is is official?

Here are the things I like about menopause:

NO periods!! (it will be a year this August for me!! )
I blame everything on menopause.:rolleyes1
I always wanted to know what it felt like to be emotional; now I know. So many things can trigger my tears now; not just onions anymore! :teeth:

We...as complete strangers understand each other...why can't our hubbies understand? :confused3

My doctor told me I'm officially post menopausal when it's been a year since my last period. One more month to go and maybe, just maybe I'll start mellowing out a bit!!!!:hippie:

Question for everyone- I am 38 and for the past month or so I think I have been having what feels like the beginning of hot flashes. Could it be??? I will be fine then all the the sudden a wave of heat flushes over me and I start to sweat. Its over in a few minutes. I am freezing DH out of the house at night. We keep the AC on about 72 but I am burning up. I don't have trouble sleeping and I still have my normal cycle.

Is this the beginning of menopause?

It sounds like peri-menopause. Try taking vitamin E.

It does sound like peri-menopause. When this wave of heat hits you suddenly...your hubby isn't in the room is he?:lmao:

Dumb question but how does she take soy? Does she drink soy milk? Take soy pills or some other form?

I'm really not sure. This was a few years ago. But knowing her, it was in a pill form.

I don't think anyone mentioned taking black cohosh!
look it up, although it takes about a month to work, It does work... at least I think that is why my hot flashes stopped...:) & I had them a LOT,, drove me nuts..
I thought I was going to skip the hot flash thing, since 8 months prior I went through a depression stage, which I attribute to pre-menopause , it was horrible, lasted 3 months ( no, too stubborn to go to the doc,, for help), all I did was cry & want to stay in bed. after I realized this *had* to do with menopause, I thought I got off easy!!
then the hot flashes............. I went through the hormone testing ,etc. & at the hospital , the woman taking blood, when she saw the test request said " hot sweats, huh,, I have had them for years......"..... oh,. my :scared: I thought, I'd never survive YEARS :scared1:
well at least I skipped the sweats,,,,,,, so far....

I have heard of black cohosh but haven't tried it. Will have to look into it.

Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Has anyone tried Evening Primrose Oil? I just ordered it and started taking it yesterday - of course it's too soon to tell. Just wondering if anyone has tried it.

A friend of mine swore her hot flashes finally went away (well, she's down from mutiple ones every day to only a few a year) when she began taking Evening Primose Oil and added flaxseed to her diet as well. Someone else had recommended this to her.
