powder clumps in cold water. At least that is mho. I used to love Tide original in the powder, but then they changed and I can rarely find it

Maybe it is just the clothes we wear which is mostly 100% pre-shrunk cotton (jeans, t-shrits, polos, etc), but I wash EVERYTHING in hot and only sort by : clothes, towels, sheets. That's it. Daily I gather up all the clothes laying around in the bedrooms and through them in wash and start it when its a full load. Add liquid Era and go. Bounce dryer sheets on high. Fold, hang and put away. Done. 2-3x a week do towels same way. Once a week sheets and rotate comforters so every month they are washed.
That's it - nothing special while sitting here wearing my very slightly faded 2004 Old Navy Flag t-shirt.

I separate the loads. I do wash my whites in hot water, cold rinse, with bleach and detergent, dryer sheet. My clothes do not go in the dryer, so when I wash light colored clothes I use fabric softner. I have for almost a year now, washed my towels and white clothes together with bleach and detergent.My towels started to smell musty and now they smell like warm sunshine. I hang the laundry out when the weather is good..I am now waiting on my husband to put in new lines...maybe this weekend?? I also, only use my dryer on off peak hours for drying...it does cut down the cost immensely...I iron all my clothes, even my jeans, not my husbands jeans, but for sure his shirts (even work shirts) and dress pants. That's my 2cents worth..
