Lets talk FOOD!

I just want to give a shout out to an amazing dessert at Brennan's - a double chocolate bread pudding. It was amazing for a chocolate lover. Nothing like traditional bread pudding, but oh so good.

Brennan's also had the advantage of *no* wait when Rainforest Cafe was quoting 1 hour and 45 minutes.

You will have no problems going back and forth. That's one of the things that will amaze you about DL since you are used to WDW. You can walk everywhere, from all the hotels to both of the parks. And do so within a relatively short amount of time.

Thanks got2travel, that info helps alot. We are staying at GC so it sounds like we can walk everywhere we need to be. We will not be renting a car for our trip and it sounds like we won't be needing a cab either.

Bear in mind, different strokes for different folks! We love Blue Bayou and since it is consistently booked I am thinking the odds are in your favor! I have never had obnoxious people on the Pirates ride, maybe the occasional group of teenagers waving and saying hi but you are in an amusement park so it goes to reason. Tortilla Joes, not the best food but not so bad we stay away. Have always had great service there. As for Napa Rose I haven't eaten there but I find it hard to believe this place could be rated number one and be so awful. Personally I always wonder about people who don't like so many places, maybe they are just incredibly picky or very unlucky! I find the Disneyland dining to be superior in quality than where we have eaten at WDW, there just aren't as many choices. I also second Hook's Pointe and Naples in DTD. We have eaten at both more than once and liked them both very much!

Amy and Dan,

We are taking the chance , we booked reservations at Blue Bayou anyway.. DW said " We had to try Tortilla Joes.. So heck i cant see that these would be that bad... :earboy2: Besides i have seen tons of reviews on here stateing that those 2 places are great... You are right Opinions do differ.. So off we go to get an updated review for everyone...God for bid we run into any of those totally obnoxious boat riders... Would ruin the Whole DL Experience... :teeth:

Granville's DL Hotel - was quite good.

Hooks Pointe - I still remember the Sea Bass I haven't found one better yet!

Storytellers - Casual with good food.

Napa Rose - was quite good. We had good service and good food.

Blue Bayou - bit crowded and noisy but the food was good and the service nice.

Rainforest Cafe - good, although the last time the service was REALLY slow. My little ones ate so many crackers waiting for the food to arrive that by the time it did they weren't hungry anymore. Other times we had been there was fine, just the last time was really slow.

Jazz Kitchen - Service was terrible and the food was just OK. At one point they dropped an entire tray of food on a little girl near us that looked to be about 8. It was really sad and upsetting.

La Brea's - good.

Yamabuki in Paradise Pier - quite good!

French Market Restaurant - yummy fried chicken.

Very true! Staying at GC is the BEST! We never touched a car while there, from GC you can easily walk everywhere.

Okay, a lot of folks have replied already but since we just returned I'll add my 2 cents too....

HOB - first time for me. It was good, we had lunch. I will say try the sweet potato fries.

Blue Bayou - we have a soft spot for this place and went for a lunch and a dinner. Both times the food was very good and service excellent.

ESPN Zone - Had lunch here twice and it was great both times. We like to sit on the sports side and had a booth with the tv screen once. That was fun.

Pizza Oooh Mow mow - CA Paradise Pier area, pizza has been improved and is pretty good. Had the sausage and BBQ chicken. Cute place.
