Let's talk about cereal

We love cereal in our house. Right now I think we have Honeycombs, generic Honey Bunches of Oats, and Raisin Bran clusters. Last week we had Cocoa Pebbles and Cupcake Pebbles. I'm not a huge fan of Cocoa Krispies though- it gets too soggy. I like crunchy cereal. Whenever there is a coupon/sale to get cereal $1 or less per box, I stock the whole top of the fridge and it last only 2-3 weeks. My absolute favorite is Cocoa Pebbles and a close second is Honey Nut Cheerios. My fave marshmallow cereal is Lucky Charms, it's magically delicious!

I lovvvvvveee cereal. And not just the sugary kind either. I am a well rounded cereal eater.

So many people complain they are hungry afterwards, but I can eat a 3/4-1 cup of cereal with the matching amount of milk and I am fine until the next meal... I'm starting to think I am the only person in the world who is like this... anyone else?

In my pantry- lucky charms (large box from BJS), corn pops, cocoa puffs (2 boxs- buy one get one), crunch berries (2 again B1G1) Special K with red berries, raisin bran and fruity pebbles.

They're still around ~ I was bad and bought all the flavors for my grands. :)
They don't eat a lot of sugar cereal, but Nana thought what the heck, it is cute for Halloween. BTW I didn't catch any flack ;). I'm a Cherrios gal myself - all flavors! :goodvibes

Now I have to go get some count chocula and some cherrios!

There were a couple other monster cereals but they didn't last. One of them was Fruit Brute and I think the other one had a mummy.

I'm 48, married, with three kids and a dog, and I love

there...I said it.

Whatever happened to the classic Super SUGAR Crisp?

In a 2008 comparison of the nutritional value of 27 cereals, U.S. magazine Consumer Reports found that Golden Crisp (Super Sugar Crisp) and Kellogg's Honey Smacks were the two brands with the highest sugar content—more than 50 percent (by weight)—commenting that one serving of this or other high-sugar cereals contained at least as much sugar "as there is in a glazed doughnut from Dunkin’ Donuts".

I am a confessed "cereal-holic"!! :cool1:

Any cereal... any time of day/night!! In my universe, Fruity Pebbles rules!! :worship:

Lucky Charms and Frosted Flakes are my faves!! DD11 likes these too, though neither of us are addicts.

When I was pg w/her, I ate Cheerios for dinner almost every night for the whole 9 mos.! I had evening sickness instead of morning and it was the only thing I could stomach.

I'm also a cereal addict

Right now I have six different kinds
Mini-Wheats
Chex
Lucky Charms
Apple Jacks
Fruit Loops
Smacks

I am also I pretty well rounded cereal eater, like almost everything . Love Raisin Bran and All Bran as much as I like Frosted Flakes and Fruit Loops.

I can eat a bowl of Grape Nuts and a banana for breakfast and not be hungry for hours. Not so much with something like Frosted Flakes of course.

I LOVE cereal! Im such a cereal addict. My all time favorite one is Frosted Flakes. I can seriously eat it all day and not get tired. lol

I think it must be all in my head for me... I can eat a bowl of healthy cereal or a bowl of sugar junk cereal and I won't be hungry for hours. Everyone I know says that if they eat sugar cereal it goes away quick.

Frosted Mini-Wheats, Corn Chex, Golden Grahams and HoneyComb are the cereals in rotation for me these days.

When I was a kid I was addicted to Boo-Berry. I tried some again a few years ago and Gawd was it disgusting. The squirrels and birds in the back yard had no problem with it though.

:rotfl: I am picturing a yard full of newly diabetic squirrels and birds!

Boo Berry isn't the same, nor is Oops! All Berries. I bought a box of Oops! All Berries at Tarjay a few weeks back... omg! yuck! It's like wax in cereal form.

You know, for the life of me, I cannot find Boo-Berry this Halloween. They added the Boo-Berry marshmallows to the Frankenberry this year, but I hope they didn't get rid of Boo-Berry altogether.

I just polished off a box of Boo Berry the other day  DH is a Frankenberry man, I'm a Boo Berry girl

I love cereal and my obsession was even worse when I was pregnant. I wanted cereal all the time!!! I love Kix, Lucky Charms, Frosted Flakes, and Honey Smacks! yum!

I miss a lot of the old school cereals too. Strawberry Shortcake and Crispy Critters to just name two.

I love cereal!!!! not a big fan of the sugary stuff. mom wouldn't let us have it unless we were on vacation, so maybe that is why? who knows. I have yet to meet a cereal I didn't like, but my favorites that I love are kashi golean crunch, grape nuts flakes, raisin bran, shredded wheat (the mini ones, but not the frosted ones), corn chex, and cherrios. when I was a kid and we would get the sugary stuff on vacation I remember loving frosted flakes, fruit loops, and peanut butter cap'n crunch.

I could definitely do cereal for dinner if dh isn't home.

and now I am craving cereal. I eat oatmeal most mornings from fall till late spring, so don't often get my fix of the cold stuff!

I loved Crispy Critters. Loved the song, too..."Hello my name is Crispy, how do you do?" :rotfl:

I always have at least 10 boxes in the house at all times. All different kinds, some good for you, most not. But I am really surprised that this isn't normal. I thought everyone kept cereal in the house.:confused3

And because of this thread I am out tomorrow morning for the Count.... I love that cereal!

:worship: All hail cereal! :worship: All hail cereal!

I LOVE Banana Nut Crunch. So, so good. Of course, it's close to $5.00 a box (Except at Walmart where I've seen it for $3.00), so I don't buy it very often. But when I see that it's 2 for $5.00 ... Watch out! They just need to make the box bigger.

Cinnamon Life is another favorite.

Special K ... But only when I have bananas in the house.

As far as the "old school" cereals go, Cap'n Crunch, Cocoa Pebbles, Count Chocula and Frosted Flakes.
