I have done this trick and it really works with meals. I would say you may have to get in by 3:30pm to take advantage of this pricing difference. I'll give one example with Morocco. Our lunch meal was $10 more for the same meal at dinner. I read the menu outside twice to make sure I was right.

Probably the best meal deals are sandwiches at counter service places. Turkey legs are one of the best bargains and baked potatoes are a good deal, too. The best approach is probably getting dinner away from the parks.
