Lol I thought new association as well so what do I know, that being said studios maybe are the same price but you’re getting a lot less in the tower based on size. Compared to VGF isn’t PVB more expensive when comparing studios? I expect pretty much anything in a somewhat elevated floor facing the lake to be considered TPV. Pretty certain DVD is going to milk these point charts, they didn’t build this tower out of the kindness of their hearts as a thank you to Polynesian owners.

Edit: based on my napkin math not including spring break and Christmas, 350 pt average for 1BRs for a week and 420 for a week on average in a 2BR using the lake view studio as the baseline. So if you want a 2BR every year you’re probably going to need 450 to go annually to be comfortable? It’ll probably be higher than this but again, what do I know? I hope DVD proves me wrong again so I have less points to buy.

I find BamaGuy’s argument that CCV has the same point chart as BRV (despite 20+ years between them) somewhat persuasive. I still think they are going to make every single possible room a TPV or maybe even some “partial TPV” if you can only see glimpses from the balcony. But I now lean towards agreeing that at least 5-10% of all studios will be standard view with the same (or similar) point charts as the standard longhouses.

Having said that, I still think 1bd, 2Bd, 3bd and TPV will be higher than VGF…and, as a result, the poly longhouses will be tough to get at 7mo because people will buy 150-200 points and realize that if they want to stay more than 3 nights they need to switch to studios.

If I were sold a "theme park view" and what I get is a lake with with glimpses of space mountaints that I can see with binoculars, I'd be pretty upset.
Not just as a DVC owner, but think about cash reservations, who might see "theme park view" and expect something like the hotel Miracosta.
How is the view from the tower better than from the 3rd floor of the longhouse?
I'm a bit skeptic they can get away with a more expensive theme park view.
Pool view would make sense, though, given I think it would have also partial lake view.

Unless there’s a theme park hiding inside the lamp post i’d be pretty disappointed paying for this TPV at PVR.

This is 2 floors up. Not that much better but at least you can see MK (barely). It makes sense to me DVC decided not to call them TPV and just went with Lake View instead. Owners are a bit more familiar about bookings and likely a bit more vocal when things are off, like how TPV rooms were removed from BLT.

For the new building at VGF, standard and Lake view have the same point cost of the older studios at the original building.

So I expect that standard and Lake view studios at the tower will have the same cost as current PVB, 1BR will be double that. 2BR slightly less than 3 times that.

But there are ways they can try to inflate the charts.
I'm not sure if the Lake views from the new tower will be significantly better than LV at the longhouses. It seems similar to me. If they classify them as theme park view instead, that could be higher.
Maybe they can invent a pool view which is in between standard and Lake as well.

I also think the charts will fall in line with PVB 1.0 and VGF. VGF theme park resort studios are ~1.5x the cost of standard deluxe/resort studios in most seasons. That's still quite the increase if you consider 1-bedrooms and 2-bedrooms.

Looking at a low and popular season, 12/3/24 would cost 38 points in a standard 1 bedroom or 46 points in a lake view 1 bedroom at VGF. Add a theme park category at 1.5x and you're up to 57 points for a single night in a 1 bedroom. What other 1-bedroom nears this? For comparison, that same night in a 2-bedroom theme park view room at BLT is also 57 points.

Not saying DVC would necessarily do this, but who is to say Poly Tower studios will sleep 5 like PVB 1.0? CCV doesn't and the points match BRV. Maybe these studios are smaller, but the 'Tower tax' is losing occupancy and a split bath for the same point chart. It has a double bath in the 1 bedroom like BLT and those studios are tiny and only sleep 4.

I think Poly Tower theme park view rooms will shine with 360 degree holiday fireworks shows. It's further from MK than CR/BLT, but has a better angle for those specific shows.

But these would have to be activated by a MB+, not mere quarters, and would cost $15 for 10 minutes during normal times. Like G+, demand pricing could spike, especially during the fireworks. Sure, there’s just one binocular set for your room, but there’s five of you, at least according to Disney’s pricing based on accommodations. That’s obvious demand for the binoculars. So now it’s $100 for the binoculars during the fireworks. Disney’s argument: it’s still cheaper than park tickets, no crowding on the Poly beach, and Disney needs to squeeze a bit more juice from the resort-only guests. Oh, and for a $25 upgrade, the headphones attached to the binoculars will provide sound from the theme park during the fireworks.

Just like the dad yelling about Kevin’s room service bill in HA2, every parent will be yelling about the binocular bill upon checkout.
