I thought for a few minutes on this and have a couple answers for you
When did our society come to the conclusion that, no one should be judged and that our differences which make us so unique in the world are bad to single out? Like it is ok to say "what a great job" someone does when they can do something extra ordinary, but we can't comment when they cant do something so ordinarily.
Did it happen the day we decided that jokes about hair colors, nationality, culture etc.. are inappropriate? Now we have to preface things by saying stuff like " i know not all ____ are likes this" Or "it is ok, i have nothing against____" . Shouldn't that be a given?
When did we stop being able to laugh at ourselves?
My husband and I often make jokes about certain flaws we have, no harm no foul. We know we love each other flaws and all.
When you are out and about and have your hair different, or shoes different or clothes different or are in such way standing out from the crowd, you may be noticed by someone. They have probably discussed your thing that makes you stand out. It doesn't mean they hate you or are "judging" you or really give 2 pennies about you in any way. It is an observation, no harm no foul.
I really wish people would get over it. If you have a flaw, you have a flaw, learn to love yourself enough, so when others take pics of it and post it on the internet your feelings won't be hurt.
I think, the kid at the waterpark pic is a great example of this...many people saw one thing and thought people were picking on the kid and a certain type of person and others saw a funny pic that happened to be set up in a great way.
I will just cross my fingers and hope I never show up on this thread, but if I do, I will laugh with the rest of you, my oddities, make me unique and me and I am glad they made someone smile for a few minutes.
