My Grandfather and my Mom had/have always been a fan of western art....somehow I can't picture this one hanging next to the Russells and the Remingtons, LOL!

And what is that yellow thing in the hands of the one guy on the left?

This is soooo funny... Everyone is scratching themselves, even the dog. One guy is putting something down his boot to get at his itch. I'd really like to know the story behind this.

Since the picture is so small it's hard to tell, but it looks to me to be the sleeve of his yellow oil-skin coat. The white behind him looks like the liner of the coat and he is trying to get the coat off. It seems someone said the picture is titled "fleas" which would explain all the itching going on.

Dogs don't get poison ivy, so we probably have some flea involvement going on. Well.... let's just hope it's fleas and not some other little creepy critter.

I'm glad the flea connection was finally put out there. That is the first thought I had when I saw the picture...the dogs were all scratching so therefore fleas. The question is did the men get them from the dogs or was it the other way around. Only the artist knows for sure.
