Wow ... And I always thought they shot straight up!

I just saw that!!!

What an amazing shot!

I wonder if we can buy prints of that?

Thanks for the comments everyone!!!

And that shot from the Magic Kingdom is awesome!!! Cinderella's Castle makes for a nice foreground subject. I'd be afraid that most people would think it's only some wayward firework though. I wonder how the shuttle would look from certain spots in Tomorrowland.... hmmmm.

someone did a shot of the last launch over tommorrow land ... it was lovely. My memorys not good so I wouldnt know where to start to search for it

These are a few of the pics I took from KSC from the Feb night launch:

Cool shots!!!! I wish I could be close enough to easily make out the shuttle in pictures.

Those shots were taken from the visitors complex, right next to the sign that says Kennedy Space Center Vistors Complex. They were the best tix I could buy at the time.I was using a 200 mm zoom lense for that shot. Wish I had a better lens. They sell launch viewing tix about a month before the launch. They sell causeway tickets also which are closer than I was at the time. I have video of the same launch, I just need to change the format to make it work.

We were scheduled to leave Wilderness Lodge that Monday. We were already packed from the night before and put on the launch as we were going through our morning routines. Just as it launched I pulled back the curtain (fifth floor center) and saw the plume of smoke rising. My girlfriend did not believe me until we went downstairs for our last cup of coffee in our reusable mugs before the Magic Express came to pick us up and she saw the after effects.

The following pictures shows the plume and how the sunrise affected the cloud ring formation that occurred when the shuttle separated from the first stage.
We were awestruck. It sort of reminded me of an ancient Native American bird sand-drawing.

Enjoy!
