Lets see those "rare "photos!

I got back stage at EPCOT during one of the tours, Undiscovered Magic I think was the name of it. Anyway, we were allowed to go upstairs in JIYI. The old play area is still there! We also got to walk right up to the dinosaurs in between cars going by at UE and see the plants close up in The Land. That was really cool as the people in the boats were like... what the heck are they doing in there? :rotfl:

The only thing that really blew my mind was walking under Test Track and seeing all the bits of tires that they lose. I forget the exact time frame but we were told they have to replace tires every couple of days. :faint:

If anything, seeing how they make the magic made it even more special. :thumbsup2

I snapped this while my wife was shopping at the Poly. Most of my pictures are Park related, usual stuff. This one is rare for me.

Thats cool. I always like the upstairs of JIYI better than the ride anyway. I remember when they had all the photography exhibits on display up there because the ride was sponsored I think by Kodak- not sure if it still is or not.

Here is one from the front of the monorail...

These are from Disneyland when my dad and I had to make an emergency exit on it's a small world. We were stuck on it for over an hour... :scared1:

stuck for an hour on small world :scared1: :faint: We have a hard time even going on that ride once.

When my grandsons were having a disagreement while we were at disney we told them if they didn't quit we would make them ride small world 5 times in a row for punishment  They were the best kids after that. ;)

I don't know if this qualifies as rare, but I figured I'd give it a go. The very first time we went to WDW was August, 99 for my birthday. We happened to go to Country Bears just as the parade was starting (along with maybe a dozen other people). The CM's offered to postpone the show until after the parade went past but everybody said no, lets do the show. So, since there were so few people, the CM's said we could take as much flash photography as we wanted - as long as we didn't tell....:lmao:

These are a couple of pics I took. I used nearly a full roll of film here.

I'll play proud papa. Here's a picture of my son's High School Band. He marched with them as an eighth grader last year and got to march with them at Disney. We'll be back again this spring when both my son and daughter will march. That makes us 2 generation Disney band geeks, because I marched at the Magic Kingdom, back in the 70s, pre-EPCOT, when the parade was still called The Mickey Mouse Parade.

Maybe not rare, but makes me proud:

khokhonutt,

haha! what a look he's giving me! actually, he's probably trying his hardest not to laugh at his proud big sissy :)

Two "rare" magical moments for us. First, when my daughter was chosen as chef of the day at Crystal Palace in 2003 - she still talks about it:

Second, when we were backstage waiting to ride with Mickey in the AK parade in 2006 - my ds and I spent most of the day working on getting on the parade for my dd's 8th birthday - a couple of magical CMs made it happen for us:

If you look closely at this "talking trashcan" at AK you can see it elevated above the cement and what appears to be a "yellow foot" poking out at the lower right hand corner. The CM controlling this can was right behind me in line that morning carrying a black bag.

The man in the background with the blue bag on his shoulder and his hand up to his mouth was the guy that did the tree's talking. He was pretty obvious to the adults, but the kids seemed clueless.

Ohhh..

I'm in the middle, marching in MGM!

Pardon me bad posture and semi-smirk-- my aunt, the photographer, hadn't seen my in years and was yelling all sorts of crazy things and I just COULDN'T keep a straight face!

This is where they store and prepare all of the Christmas decorations for WDW and DCL.

On our trip in 2004 - my older daughter - who was 6 at the time - was approached by Goofy to ride Goofy's Barnstormer with him - Max (Goofy's son) selected a child as well (we had just gotten off riding it like 10 times - it was not busy at all as Toontown had just opened and the cm let us stay on over and over - that was in July too!) - so they walked the kids up the exit ramp and got on the next car - Anna Grace and Goofy were in the front car and Max and the other child were in the car behind it. That was a magical experience!

Edited to say - if that happened now - I would have had a LOT more photos of the experience - as it was, that film camera was dropped a few hours later and there was a problem with the film and I really thought I wouldn't be able to retrieve them when it came time to develop the film!!
