Let's see if I can keep a secret until December 25

I have always wanted to surprise one of my kids with a trip to Disney for Christmas. This year I am attempting it. Now one thing you should know is I can't keep a secret to save my life. I am better than Western Union for spreading the word. Here is the cast for this "secret trip"

This is DH. Better known to those who love him as "Grumpy"

This is DS 18. Goes to college in Kansas. If there was a dwarf known as "flirty" it would be him. So instead he is "Doc" - he is a premed major.

This is the recipeint of the surprise. He is Stitch.

This is me.

We were at the WDW in October 2006 to celebrate DS (now 18) high school graduation. It was his graduation gift. Thinking it would be the last family trip with doc going to college we went all out. We spent 7 nights at AKL CL. It was awesome.

We were set to go last October but DH got transferred from Kansas to New Mexico with his job and we couldn't afford it so I cancelled it.

This year I decided I was going to surprise my DS(who will be 6 at time of trip) with Disney. When I brought it up to DH he laughed hysterically. These were all his reaction. So that made me more determined.

I called "Doc" and told him of my plan - his reaction was pretty much the same as his dads. I invited him to go. He turned me down and said he wanted to stay in Kansas with family and frat brothers for the holiday. I said fine. I thought to myself I would miss for Christmas but if he doesn't go we can stay longer and get a better room view.

So I booked AKL savannah room for 11 nights DXDDP and hopper passes from December 31-Jan 11. Whoo HOO set to go!!!!!!! OR so I thought.

About a week later I get a text from "doc" then a phone call asking if I had checked my phone for messages. I hadn't and I asked what was up. Doc, in a pathetic voice says "if it is not too late can I go to Disney with you?"
I ask if he realized he would miss us over the holiday. He actually said "No mom a free trip to Disney IS a free trip to Disney and I would be stupid to turn it down!!!!" So much for him being sentimental.

So back on the phone I go. To have my family together I "sacrifice" my AKL savannah view for a WL standard room to keep within budget. But that is Ok I get to see my son and have another family vacation.

so here we are still way to many months to go. I have my new Passport in hiding I pull it out during the day. i have my new membership to TGM. Planning and replanning our ADR's (which I can't make until July 4) keeps me occupied. when Disney shopping had their 70% off sale a few weeks ago I started buying our matching shirts and trading pins for Christmas presents. they are hidden in the Garage. Just hope no one mistakes the box for trash and throws it away.

So we are taking bets can I keep the secret? Or will I open my trap? DH has dinner at V&A riding on this one. Any guesses?

What an awesome trip you have planned. I bet you can keep the secret! I can relate with wanting to spill the beans, though. You can do it!!

Well plans have changed!!! DH is getting transferred again. We are headed to Sacramento July 1. I am trying to decide whether to keep things the way they are or change and drive to Disneyland. If I do that we will spend several days "doing" Disney as well as a a day at Sea World, Sandiego zoo and a couple days at Universal. I am really torn. But I refuse to let another move cancel my vacation - no matter where we go. Airline tickets to go to Florida for the 4 of us will be 1500.00. That alone makes me think DW may be a better bet. I just don't know what to do.
